  1. In switching from FSX to P3D I have added a new computer to my 2 computer set up (and removed an old one). My new computer which I shall call Computer 1 runs P3D and the main outside view. Computer 2 (originally my main FSX computer--with 2 graphics cards) now runs my cockpit software -- PFD, ND, FMC. On this computer I have a spare VGA connection for a monitor for the EFB display Unit. However on this now number 2 computer my original FSX EFB Data Provider and Display Unit are still installed. I wish to install the new 1.51 Data Provider for P3D on my new No 1 computer and the display unit to no 2 computer. Will the existing Display Unit software be “found” by the new install or should I remove everything before installing the new version? Is there anything else I should be aware of before proceeding? I still have a copy of my license key. Thanks.
  2. Thanks Urs for the reply. However in the meantime I have decided to do a complete upgrade to my set up. I have ordered a new computer and when it arrives I am going to install P3D. Hopefully then I will be able to reinstall Aivlasoft EFB. I have already uninstalled it from my current computer. William
  3. I have tried the update but the error still exists. When I go to the EFB folder I cannot see a file called "settings". What is the name of the file I need to remove? Is it the config file of the Data Provider? Thanks William
  4. Yesterday I ran into computer hangs when running FSX. I have many add ons and don't know what exactly caused the problem. However after restoring FSUIPC.ini etc I have managed to get FSX running again-hopefully!! However it still hangs again immediately I try to start AivlaSoft EFB. I get this error message: Read User Settings : Unknown type found at AivlaSoft.EFB Comm.Services. User settings Service b0 at AivlaSoft.EFB Comm.Services. User settings Service c (StringA_0, String A_1) at yo.a (BooleanA_0) at y0 .e0 at w0.c0 at w0.h0 at w0.l0 Looks like something is corrupted Will an uninstall and reinstall of EFB cure this problem? I have never upgraded since purchase so maybe I should do that also. Thanks for any help/advice. William
  5. Now sorted. The "Saved Routes" needed to be set to point to - Documents - "Flight Simulator X Files". Now all my saved routes are available in all formats. Error message on RNav approach has not reappeared so all is well. Bill
  6. Urs, Just to complete this topic for anyone else reading - my issue was solved with a reinstall of Squawkbox. That's where the problem was. Vatsim traffic now displaying correctly. Bill
  7. Urs Thanks for your fast response again. Yes they are still there. I get to them by selecting EFB Routes. Previously I got to them by selecting - Saved Routes (select type). This doesn't seem to work now. I have come across another problem (error message) doing an RNav approach but will try to recreate that before reporting it in a new topic. Bill
  8. Hmm I lost all my saved flights after installing the update. Now in the saved plan format FSX saves doesn't show, just Flight Sim Commander and Microsoft Flight Simulator (which was empty after the update). Before updating there was an FSX section also. Bill
  9. When I set up EFB and select to connect to Vatsim I can see the regions which have controllers displayed, and at the airport, on the ground chart, I can see the ribbon with the online frequencies displayed - but I cannot see any aircraft. I have clicked the OTPV button but nothing shows. I have an orange square around the aircraft symbol and my aircraft is showing.I also see a message "Successfully reconnected Vatsim" I also can view the box which shows all worldwide controllers on line. I must be missing something? Please help. And to add the Vatsim traffic does not display on my FSX view either. Further research has indicated a possible problem with MS and Squawkbox. Bill
  10. Thanks Urs. That now looks fine on the Display Unit i.e. Online network checkbox is now available.
  11. I wish to be able to view Vatsim info on the EFB Display unit. I have downloaded the two necessary files. When I extract these files to where exactly should I point them?
  12. Travis, Thank you. Have got the Display Unit running on the XP computer. Completed 1 short flight. Just need to get the settings sorted to my own preferences and check that everything is displaying as planned. William
  13. I have been running EFB for some months now on my single Win7 FSX computer. I have now networked (successfully I hope) my old XP computer with my Win7computer. I intend to use this to run the Display Unit. Should I first uninstall all the EFB and then reinstall putting the Data Provider with FSX computer and display unit on the XP computer as outlined in the set up manual. Or can I shortcut this and if so what steps should I take. I don't want to duplicate files and cause problems. Thanks William
