Hi,

is it possible to generate a flight plan with routefinder, activate it in EFB, add SID and STAR for the departure runway and the approach and then save it as a FS .pln file?

I would like to fly without ATC for time being but still fly the procedures as close to real world. I understand that ATC will advise of a particular SID / STAR to be flown or use radar vectors to the enroute entry point /final approach fix.

I have been flying PMDG aircraft, which allow for the programming of SID / STAR via the FMC. However, the aircraft I have now does not allow programming of the FMC.

I did unclick the "load/update GPS.." spot and the exception did not occur.

It must be that the FSX GPS route files are located in a different location than the PMDG route files.

I corrected the runway exceptions for several airports and it worked just fine. The route loading is still a mystery. I created a route in EFB from Atlanta (KATL) to Chicago (KORD) and made sure the file path to the data PC was correct. I was able to load the route into the pmdg 737 FMC, however, the data logger window showed an error (see screenshot 1st red dot). I then created the same route again and did NOT save it but simply activate it and I received the error on the data log window (2nd red dot).

Right now it is working but annoying.

thanks for your help. I have just loaded and executed a flight from Miami to Atlanta with a EFB generated flight plan. Absolutely no problem/exception. I did not change any file location, basically did not do anything different than yesterday. I hate when problems fix them-self without me knowing why. However at this point we should consider it the "chair interface" screwed up.

Also thank you for the pointer on the missing runway assignments. This is my next project to fix. Also I reply'd to "Todds"  post:

What I have learned about adding runways and scenery

with my own findings. Maybe you could take a peek at it and comment.

I saw your post late, so I generated a route from Istanbul (LTBA) to Rome (LIRF) both with EFB and SimBrief. with EFB the route would not load and I received an error on the data logger window (see screenshots). The SimBrief route loaded fine.

I just now downloaded and loaded your file -EDDMOMDB01.rte and it worked at least in the 737 FMC. Go figure.

[What I have learned about adding runways and scenery]

To Todd and All Others,

I had exactly the same problem, so I followed your instructions and got the EFB and FSX SE to agree regarding the runways. However, when I loaded the flight-plan (LTBA to LIRF generated with SimBrief) the available runways disagreed with those in the EFB (Aivlasoft) and FSX steam edition. The AIRAC cycle is 1608 and should be the latest one. I had the following runway data for LTBA (Istanbul):

FSX: 36L, 36R; 18L, 18R; 06, 24

EFB: 36L, 36R; 18L, 18R, 06, 24

PMDG FMC (737-800): 35L, 35R; 18L, 18R; 05, 23  (see screenshot)

I than checked Jeppesen Approach Charts dated 16-Dec-05: 36L, 36R; 18L, 18R; 06, 24.

What is correct?

Hi Admin,

I am sorry but I omitted the fact that I am flying the PMDG 777-200.

The route files are in the PMDG - 777 folder and I just create a flight plan as per your description (OMDBEDDM01.rte).

I use the following FMC key sequence

Position page to Route Page to Route Request to select Route - Request to "Route Requesting and Route Request Sent" to "Route 1 Uplink Ready" - Clear to "Request Sent" to LOAD to "Route 1 Uplink loading" to Clear to Next Page which should now display the route steps in the following pages.

The Co Route is displayed correctly as "OMDBEDDM01" but NO route is displayed on the legs page or the route page.

I also watched a video of PMDG 777 FMC tutorial and confirmed my steps.

Hallo,

 

I tried to load a route today for EDDM (Munich) to OMDB (Dubai).

1st I tried to generate a route with VATroute and there where NO routes available. Than I used Route Finder added the runway, SID and STAR and previewed, looked great. I saved the route in my route folder under EDDMOMDB01.RTE. When I tried to install the Co Route in the FMC nothing would happen. I than removed the 01from the route, did not install.

I than generated I route with SimBrief (EDDMOMDB.rte) and it would install just fine. Anything I am doing wrong? I think I read somewhere that the SID's and STAR's do not get transferred when the route is saved.

Also my AIRAC cycle is 1608 and it is different from the EFB. This creates a problem with SID's and STAR's, since they are not available on the EFB.

Is there a way the EFB can be updated to the same AIRAC cycle as the FMC (navigraph)?

Hallo,

Is the route generation aircraft dependent?

I am unable to select my two (NGX & 777) aircraft on the Route Setup page in the Display Unit. I am running the EFB on two separate computers and finally got the Display PC and the Data Provider PC communicating (primary windows 10 problems).

At this point I can only select FSX aircraft models, also not all of them (Airbus 321, Boeing 737-800, Cessna 172, Money Bravo).

I just downloaded the EFB yesterday and using it in the DEMO mode right now.

Would the PMDG aircraft NOT show up in the Trial Version or does EFB need to be pointed to the PMDG folder(s)?

Hallo'

I have attempted to install the EFB trial version with a data provider PC and a display PC.

When I opened the display PC I get the "You have to select the data folder......." (see screenshot picture AivlSoft EFB link). I believe it has something to do with setting permission for the folder where the data files reside. However, the drive on the "data provider PC" is shared and I have full permissions (see Access Error screenshot link).

I am stuck now and cant find any explanation why I can't access the Local folder on the drive that is shared with full permission. I hope someone else ran into this problem and got it resolved.

Hi,

I have registered a account and can't seem to change my Username.

The name has a erronious character at the end, which I can only duplicate when I copy & past it from a "forgot password" e-mail, where it is shown with the character. Once I am signed in and try to change the username it displays "changes saved", however I can NOT sign in with the new username. It is however displayed correctly on the forum homepage once I am signed in.

I can not duplicate the erronious character with the keyboard.
