GCFV. Not ILS approaches

In EFB only the VOR approaches appears and I couldn't find the error in the AIRAC file.

In FSX Map the ILS appears.

I updated the DataProvider via "FSX Scenery Data update" a couple of times and GCFV appears in the log without errors

 

Any help would be appreciated..... ;)

In this case, it's going to take some serious editing of the scenery - from the charts you've pointed me to (thanks, btw) the old 1L ILS is now used for 1R.

 

Now ILSes can't be removed from a scenery, but I'll see if I can edit it to change the frequency, lose the glideslope, etc.

 

Then I'll try to add the (IFV 109.5) to 1R.

 

Something tells me it won't be that simple though....

... it was actually easier!

 

I'll say up front that without express permission to post the updated BGL, I'm afraid that the best I can do is to relate the steps I took, using the latest beta of ADE.

 

Because the ILS is in the wrong position (I have no idea how JM knows that, but I always bow to his knowledge ;) ) I was able to reassign it to 1R. I then added the ILS for 19L, and I even disallowed takeoffs for 1L/19R. (I decided to allow landings, cause I'm that kind of guy - landing options are good.)

 

Running the Fault Finder showed me that the starts were not where I'd think they should be. I removed the starts from 1L/19R and moved the 1L start further up the runway. A few more Faults were automagically fixed (bad altitudes, etc.) and a quick re-indexing of the scenery shows this is now available:

I'll take the Caravan out for a spin to see how it actually flies though. I'd hate it if the ILS brought me down in the drink....

Straight down the centerline, right to the touchdown stripes.

 

I changed my opinion on 1L / 19R and enabled takeoffs but disabled landing. That after I saw the satellite photo which showed the "closed" marking yet had a BizJet on the runway. :lol:

 

Then too, there are SIDs for those runways.... I did switch off all lighting on those runways though.

 

I've some household chores to do today, so I may let the sim run unattended for an hour or so to monitor how the AI handle things. (But don't think that you have to wait on me to get your hands dirty yourself!)

Your control of ADE is a lot of better than mine.....I don't suppose how to do all the things you do....maybe i must learn.... ;)

Oh I make many mistakes - always keep a backup is a personal motto. :)

 

Okay let's start here. Open your ADE and using "Import BGL" find your copy of that file which you can see in my earlier screenshot.

 

Now go to Tools - Fault Finder, and when you see the first dialog below, click on the item with the Fault Type of "ILS Wrong Location" and then click the "Repair" button...

 

You'll see the second dialog that allows you to assign IFV to runway 1R.

Save your work. Then proceed onto other faults, such as fixing the ILS altitude, etc. (I generally don't get too heavily involved with the taxi and parking issues unless I know something's a real pain.)

 

You will have to correct some of the runway start faults in order to compile your work. (I had two starts for 01R - I merely changed the one at 01L to indicate it was for 01L and presto.)

 

You can then Add ILS to cover 19L, and make any other changes to reflect the real world aspect you like. (Runway lighting, closed markers, disallow takeoffs or landing, correct the pattern directions, etc.)

 

I see that I'm using a version of ADE that's a year old, so some things may be different with yours.

 

Finally, compile into the same directory and rename the original file... in effect giving you a backup. (I usually change the extension to BGLORIGINAL to make them stand out for me.)
