  1. I think there's some confusion here. EFB works fine with or without UK2000 I have some UK2000 airports and some other 3rd party ones and it works fine with all of them.

Sometimes when runway assignments change at airports you need to do what was suggested, In your instance I don';t think this is the case as EFB is not seeing your UK2000 AP at all.

Did you find any other entries in your scenery config that mention UK2000?

  2. The reason you can only post a 3k file is because of the forum limitations on uploaded files. you need to delete the old files before you can up;pad any newer/bigger ones. Don;t loose faith both UK2000 and EFB are worthy add-ons I'm using both and ORBX and have n problems at all. there is something odd going on we just need to get to the bottom of it.

From the image I can see that whilst you have the uk2000 library at the top of your list you don;t have the airport itself up there. The Libraries I think just contains stuff like ground vehicles and such. If you scroll down that list can you see anything else with UK2000 in it?

I've just checked mine and each airport has it's own entry as well as the 1 Library entry which should be at the bottom of any UK2000 airport entries

  3. The uk2000 was setup a couple of weeks ago. It's "UK2000 Stansted Xtreme, version 4.00"

I have done the data update that you suggested.

Could you do the thing that Travis suggested (above) to compare your scenery files that you have?

"Open EFB, load EGSS, click the Airport Information icon, and once that dialog opens, double click in the blank area above the General Info / Communications tabs until you see a filepath and filename."

Although I can't get that same thing to work today :(   When I press the "Airport Information icon" I get a map of Stanted's runway.

    Mine is attached.

    Thanks, John

OK well I don't have Stansted but I do have EGKK and EGLL and when I follow Travis' process all of my UK2000 scenery is in a UK2000 folder. Yours is definitely using the default FSX scenery so I'm wondering if it's installed correctly? can you post a grab of your scenery list from inside fsx?

  4. I admire your outlook regarding customer satisfaction, unfortunately there's not many like you out there. At then end of the day I think we all really just want the same thing we just have different ways of expressing it. Out of interest has anybody on here actually raised a ticket for this issue or has it all just been via the forum? scrub that I've just noticed there isn't a ticketing system in place

  5. I'm fairly certain I've not said anywhere on here that you're not entitled to an opinion and surely me opposing your opinion is just me expressing mine?

I never suggested you were dissing anyone I simply felt that the level of vitriol being aimed at what is one guy on his own developing this software was a bit much.

My point about the OS's was that why would you chose two OS's that were never used with FSX let alone EFB

Working for Microsoft wouldn't fix the problem would it if as you say the problem is with Aivlasoft?

As regards the source code I'd happily get you to sign a NDA and then let you chip in to see if the problem can be fixed unfortunately that's not my call maybe PM Urs and ask him

And sorry to be pedantic but you never said EFASS with all it's faults at all, all you said was "Well if we have to wait for version 2 to come out,its EFASS for me  :-o   :x  does almost the same job and its free!!"

(by the way I'm a paying EFASS customer)

I'm really not trying to pick a fight with you or anyone but I do get tired of people leaping to get the latest toy (Win10) that's out there and then complaining when there old ones don't play nicely.

From what I can Tell Urs has developed this and is has supported it on his own, it's not some big company with dozens of staff all frantically writing code. Chances are Urs has a day job as well...Of course he could be pulling the wool over my eye's and I'm talking complete boxxocks  :-P

  6. Well if you read the posts on the EFASS forum you'll find that support from the developer on there is non existent and has been for nearly a year the software is aimed at x-plane and doesn't allow you to fly across the pacific unless you wnat to go the long way round. there are many other bugs as well that haven't been fixed.

Nobody suggested that Urs didn't know win10 was coming out but he did say development for this version of EFB had ended.

interesting that you chose to pick 2 OS that have been out of date for 10 years or more and failed to mention all those OS's where it does work.

If your a software developer whose been working on Win10 issues then why don't you take a look into the problem and see if you can find a solution and then give something back to the community.

  7. Sorry guys but I think you're taking this all a bit too far now and I'm surprised the thread hasn't been locked.

Every time a new OS comes out some legacy software has problems, sometimes the developers jump in and fix it other times they don't.

No it doesn't say that EFB wont work on Windows 10 nor does it say it wont work on windows 12 or beyond either. You bought a product that worked on the then current OS. YOU chose to move to an OS that was untested with EFB, and in some cases it doesn't work.

Urs has chipped in and said that it worked on his system with a clean install, I'm still running a pre-release version of WIn10 and it works fine..guess I'm just lucky, but I won't be upgrading my main PC until all the bugs are ironed out.

Urs did say ages ago that development for this version of EFB had ended and that he was working on V2, indeed it's been a long time coming but I'm no software developer and therefore am not in a position to comment on how and when things should be completed. I have however commissioned thousands of pounds worth of software and so I know how long these things can take and the levels of checking required to ensure things work as expected.

I would rather he finished the work on v2 so we can move to that rather than waste time fixing this version just for the few who just had to move over to win10

Take a look in the mirror guys before you start blaming other people because you chose to jump on to the Win10 bandwagon.

    Rant over

  8. I've just found out that the 10240 update corrupted a load of files some of which were to do with Outlook (I couldn't send any emails) the fix was to run sfc /scannow in a admin command prompt although when it finished it said there were files it couldn't fix on restart outlook was working again.

my point is it's possible that the 10240 update may have corrupted other files that could be causing your issues so it may be worth trying sfc /scannow.
