  1. Hi Oskar sorry to rake up an old post but I posted the following question with Navigraph and their response is in bold below. is this something that can be worked on?

    Regards

    Brian

"I’ve noticed that all of the RNAV approaches for NZQN are missing in Aivlasoft EFBv2. Both in P3dv4 (2102 rev1 ) and in MSFS2020 (2102 rev3)."

    Hi Brian,
the AivlaSoft dataset is limited and we don´t include tailored data into this - that has legal reasons, sorry.
    Cheers,
    Richard

    Hi Brian,

We don't have any information on Rex Weather Force 2020. Presumably it is not working the way we are used with weather programs for FSX/P3D or X-Plane. With MSFS things are pretty much different. As long as the SDK does not give enough clues as to how external weather is being injected into MSFS, we have no chance to include such Weather Sources into EFB. So as a conclusion, at present you will have to rely on "real weater" selection in the respective settings window.

Understood. thanks for looking into it though. Maybe one day 🙂

    Hi Brian,

I'm afraid that Transition Altitudes are no longer accessible by third party programs as during the databuilding process they are retrieved from the ARINC dataset and - as being airport specific in many countries -  included in the airport.bin file.

Thanks Oskar, at least I can stop looking now ?

  4. In EFB v1 you created a file called "Airports.dat" which I believe contained correct Transition Altitudes for airports around the world.

Pete Dowsons MakeRwys used to use this file to add the data to a CSV file used by radar contact.

that file doesn't seem to appear anymore in EFBv2 and I was wondering if this information is now in a different file that MakeRwys can access?

  5. Just to chip in with my $2.

I use PFPX or Simbrief and export to both EFB2 and whichever Aircraft I'm intending to fly in. I also send a plan to the P3d folder as Radar Contact and AS4 will get the plans from there.

Once I've added SID's and STARS I save the route in EFB2.

SID's should be added in the Aircraft during preflight and whilst STARS can be added then they are better left until you are closer to your arrival so you know wind direction and what runways are active.

I too was confused/dismayed when I couldn't export from EFB2 at first but then quickly realised I never needed it in the first place.

    Hi Briant,

I went into each of the UK2000 directories and run the OPTIONS exe and told it to install the AFD files. Even if you're not using AI traffic these files must be installed.
It's taken me a very long time to find this and it was only by accident in fairness but it made a massive difference for me.

When you use the scenery, you have to decide if you want static aircraft or not. If you have static, of cause those stands must be removed from the AFCAD file (as in your screen shot), or else you get AI parking on to of Static aircraft

. So run the options program. Remove the static (UNTICK ‘Install Static’  and TICK ‘Install AFD with Airline codes’  and then run your AFB rescan.

    That should help with luck.

    Cheers

    Andy

Thanks for that Andy, I'm working now until Thursday next week so I'll take a look then.

    Hi Urs,

I have fixed it. This is really kind of strange because it's also fixed a lot of other issues I was having like low fps at UK2000 airports like Heathrow.
After a bit of thinking and some research I decided to see if I'd installed the AFD ( AFCAD ) files. I had not.
So I installed them for EGKK and the ground charts are 100% perfect.
I then proceeded to do this will all the UK2000 scenery including Heathrow.

After running the AEC in OrbX I then run the sim and loaded into EGLL in the FSLabs A320X.

My fps went from between a normal 14-21 in the vc and 21-23 fps outside to a much better +20 fps in both views.
I now get 70fps in 4096 res at Gatwick!

It's really odd how this has impacted how the simulator was functioning and I hope it helps someone else if they have simlar issues.

    Thanks for the help.

    Cheers

Hi Andy if you don't mind and have the time can you give a bit more detail as to what you actually did. I also get low FPS around UK airports and I also have the UK2000 "suite" of airports but I presumed the low fps was all down to the high level of detail in and around the London area. I also checked my EGKK file and it's different to yours. It's in the same place but is "EGKK_AFX_UK2xTRM.BGL".

The whole afcad thing is a bit of a mystery to me so you'll have to be gentle :-D

  8. I can honestly say I don't remember doing that in the GPE.  I've just looked at the settings/auto-save option for onedrive (right click on the cloud icon in your task bar) in there is the option to choose where your documents and pictures are saved. in my case it's set to "This PC only" I guess in your case its' set to Onedrive. I think this is an option when installing win10.

I'm not the best when it comes to backing up stuff to onedrive or anywhere for that matter :-o so I'm probably not the best one to advise on how you should get around the problem :-D

I agree though having the ability to choose the folder location would be helpful

I'm sure Urs will be along shortly to offer some sage advice

  9. Lets get it working on one PC first and then worry about the networked pc afterwards. Compare my screen shots to your settings and see if that helps you figure out where the problem lies. The firs 4 are from the data provider settings and the last few are from the display unit. there are other screens but these ones should get you working.

Obviously you'll need to change path's to match your installation

Please Developpers, allow DisplayUnit to be started without dataprovider running (with a sort of timer checking every 5000ms if the dataprovider is running and if dataprovider path is available)

And give us some news about the roadmap of the awaited V2

Mario, I can already start the DU without the DP but I don't see why you would want to. Without the DP there is no Data for the DU to display. Or am i missing the point?

As regards V2 I can only point you to Urs post 8 above yours.
