  1. Something new today that might help resolving this matter: I have installed today a number of airport add-ons on P3Dv4 and run the DataProvider scenery data update, then I opened my DisplayUnit and tried to plan a flight. When I clicked on the airport selection, the airport page shows only 12 add-ons (all FSDT airports and the Sheremetyevo DrezDesign installed in the Documents P3Dv4 add-ons folder, all the FlyTampa add-ons in the P3Dv4 folder), no P3D stock airports at all, no Aerosoft airport, no ORBX airport. In other words I can plan a flight between those 12 add-on airports only. So the question is why is the DataProvider not reading the stock P3D stock airport files, and why would it not have access to the Aerosoft scenery folder? Once we have an answer to that question , we will also have the solution... Evidently if the stock airports are not read by the DP, one cannot use these airports for planning and it gives that message "airport not available in FSX" (should be P3D). 2nd trial I rerun DP once more just now, and I noticed on the list of sceneries in ProgramData/Lockheed Martin/P3Dv4 that it says that all P3Dv4 sceneries do not exist (yellow dot), whereas the sceneries DO exist in the Program Files/Lockheed Martin/P3Dv4 scenery folder, so this explains why the stock airports are not read, thus unavailable for planning. All the ORBX files are also shown as not existing, when they do exist and again the paths are correct. Another strange point, all my Aerosoft sceneries in the Ecosystem Aerosoft folder are properly detected by the DP (no yellow dot) but are not in the list of available airports in my EFB DisplayUnit. I hope the above can help getting to a solution. With best regards, Jean-Claude
  2. I discovered this morning that I have the same error message as indicated above. I cannot load or make any existing flight plan (either from FSX or EFB databases), EFB would reject any destination airport as non existent in FSX... This happened after the Windows 10 "Fall Creator" updates. I updated EFB to the latest version of September to no avail. The other changes I made to my PC were the acquisition and installation of Prepar3D v4.1 the installation of FSL A320X (that I already had in FSX) Majestic 400 installed (also in FSX) All FSDT and FlyTampa Sceneries installed I am using EFB Display on a networked laptop. The EFB DataProvider was properly set on the sim PC for both FSX (for years) and P3Dv4 last week.
  3. After four days of reading, questioning here and there, troubleshooting and guessing, I finally got my EFB display to work as before on my laptop. I was unable to re-establish the HomeGroup on the laptop (it would only offer the "create"* button instead of "join") but as mentioned in my first message, my Simulator PC was detected by EFB (Hostname found), the link to the DataProvider could be created manually with no difficulty (although my simulator PC could not be seen on the drive selection tree!), and albeit my first attempt to do the same for the flight plans folders failed, I finally got them to work as well, and all that again manually, meaning that I wrote the paths one by one since the simulator PC was invisible. Amazingly, after writing the path and clicking on the button to select the path on the right, the drive selection tree was updated and the simulator PC was then appearing with all the shared files, but each time I started for another path, it would refuse to show the Simulator PC!!! The last sweat was for the FSX flight plan folder to load the flight plans from, I applied the same recipe and it worked after two attempts. May my adventure be useful to others, if you were unfortunate enough to hit that networking wall!
  4. Hello fellow desktop pilots... I had the very bad idea to upgrade my MacBook Pro OS last week and thus had to re install my Windows 7 on its BootCamp partition run by Parallels 9. For your information I used the same laptop and setup as my Display Unit for EFB for the past two years with no issues. Having re installed W7 Home edition 64 and my display Unit, I could easily find my PC on which I run FSX and network it to EFB DataProvider, my FSX PC is clearly shown on the tree from which I selected the correct folder. Then, I wanted to map one by one all my flightplan folders in EFB Display Unit following the same procedure, but 1/ My tree does not show my FSX PC anymore in the network, hence I cannot select the folders 2/ I tried writing the links very carefully in the boxes, to no avail as EFB would tell me that my folders do not exist I pinged my FSX PC on cmd from my laptop and everything is satisfactory, it does work, as EFB immediately found my host PC. So I am lost, I spent hours and hours in the past two days trying to rectify the problem, reading pages and pages on Internet on how to make this work, to no avail... Quite frustrating indeed, obviously not anything to do with Aivlasoft excellent EFB!!! Could anyone help me in my predicament please (I posted on Windows Community, Apple Community, Parallels forum and some others, no clue from anyone as of now unfortunately). Thank you!
  5. Done Travis! When I switched from Aerosoft NavdataPro this April to Navigraph, I did everything right in my new EFB settings... except for the path which was going down to the Navdata folder line in the Aivlasoft file! Hence my trouble especially since that Navdata folder was showing that it had been updated (amended on such and such date which was correct) leading to my confusion! Thanks again for your help
  6. Thank you Travis, Yes the selection of Navdata provider is correct in my EFB settings and my email is on the way with the requested file. As an aside, seeing your MCE signature, I have the feeling we fly a lot together as a crew in the virtual skies! (I am one of the other MCE CP) Have a great Sunday! Kind regards,
  7. That file as indicated above says that the most current AIRAC was updated late July. As a point that may be of interest, I was using Aerosoft Navdata before and switched to Navigraph last April. The nav database shown by the data provider is the last from Aerosoft dating back to Nov 13 (I was away from Nov until Apr). Thank you.
  8. I am bumping this topic because I am experiencing exactly the same issue as the one depicted above. I am using Navigraph, the path to the Aivlasoft Navdata folder is correct (I set it up manually) and in that folder, it shows that the last modification was on July 28 2014 at 08.04 (hence the latest update), but yet when I open EFB it shows a database of last November, any idea why? Thank you for your help.
  9. Thank you for your fast reply Urs, I confirm that I restarted DataProvider and DisplayUnit and that my flight is now properly followed. Enjoy a great week-end!
  10. This morning I had a very strange occurrence, after creating, saving my flight plans in FSX and loading my flight as usual, I realised that my plane was not appearing on the EFB ground map, neither would it appear anywhere on any subsequent maps, in short I have no flight following at all although of course the data provider is on and working and linked to the display (used on a laptop and hooked by ethernet cable to the sim) This is not a network problem since my flight plans were saved correctly on my sim computer. Additional information, the icon with the small plane on the menu bar that we must press to get the plane on the route is greyed out. I have been using the same setup for years now with no such problem, my last flight was day before yesterday and all worked fine. I am at a loss to find the cause of this. Any tip would be welcome. Thank you.
  11. Thank you Steve, this is helpful. Too bad that I would need to run FSX in window mode though, that's the drawback costing frames! Best regards,
  12. I am looking for a tablet that I would link to my PC on which i use FSX. This tablet would be used essentially for running the display part of the Aivlasoft EFB. Has any one tried this setup with this Asus tablet mentioned in the title that runs with W7 hence offering easy compatibility with my main PC? That tablet also has USB connection, will I be able to connect it to my PC by wire instead of Wifi (I hate wifi, but this is another debate)? Some feedback from other users would be extremely helpful and I thank you in advance for any advice on this topic.
  13. Sorry about the lack of signature, it was ticked indeed but my signature had yet to be inserted! My mistake. Thank you Urs for your suggestion, I used the modify page as I found it quite easy but I shall try your other solution. Best regards,
  14. I am currently trying to enter manually a flight plan from KLAX to NTAA and find it impossible because the modification page will not allow waypoints beyond 500 NM to be found, however one leg of that flight is 572 NM hence I am stuck with my flight plan in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with no way to move forward or even backtrack from NTAA. Is there currently a solution to that or is it a limitation that we have to accept? Thank you for your clarification.
  15. Thank you, problem solved now, I finally got my SCEL info like for other airports.
  16. Thank you Andy, but I use Latin VFR SCEL, not the FSX default scenery. Jean-Claude
  17. Yes absolutely, after each scenery install.
  18. Thank you. I just completed a flight from KLAX to SCEL and no approach plates were available at all. I had to go to the FSX map to get the ILS frequencies. All other beacons (VOR, ADF were shown, but I am positive that there was no ILS. Any reason for that? Thank you to clarify. Jean-Claude
  19. This is probably a very stupid question, but I cannot find the ILS frequencies of my destination airports anywhere on the approach plates, where am I supposed to find them please? Thank you.
  20. Thanks for the advice. Do I take it that the EFB application display will be on the main computer, or will it be on the IPad using Air Display?
  21. Thank you for your help. It's finally done and working! Great software indeed. I will look at ways to connect with an IPad now since my laptop is old and slow. I just wanted to check it. Jean-Claude
  22. This is what I was looking for, as I am a new W7 user, I could not understand why this AppData was not visible, I could find it with the Windows search fonction, did share it but it was still not working. Your explanations are very clear, a pity my search on the forum did not find it earlier! First test flight this afternoon. Thank you and best regards. Jean-Claude
  23. Thank you Urs, Net Framework 3.5 SP1 is installed and the application does start but I am having a terrible time trying to locate the DataProvider folder on my Windows 7 machine so as to share it with the laptop. Could you kindly give me any hint on this as I have spent the last hour chasing it in my folders? Thank you. Greetings from Wallis! Jean-Claude
  24. I networked two computers, the Windows 7 PC on which FSX runs has the Data Provider and the Windows XP laptop has the Display Unit. However the Display Unit sends an error message "The application has not succeeded to initiate correctly (0xc0000135) Click OK to abort". I uninstalled it and reinstalled with the same result. Can you please help me to resolve this? Thank you. Jean-Claude
  25. Hello, I decided to try EFB for one month and from what I have seen this morning on my PC, it is a winner. However i will have to overcome some initial networking challenges: My definitive acquisition of EFB is subordinated to my being able to network one of my laptops to my main FSX PC (so as to use FSX full screen). I successfully established the network from my FSX PC on Windows 7 64 bits to my laptop equipped with Windows XP SP3 (both are visible on my network screen), but I cannot access my FSX PC as my laptop (Windows XP) asks for a user name (that I do not have or setup anywhere in Windows 7) and a password that I have. Has anyone experienced this challenge and solved it? If I can't make it work with XP then I have another possibility with my MacBook Pro, but will it work? Is it compatible and has anyone resolved that? Once that first hurdle is passed, will remain the "how to" use that EFB program on my remote computer, but one thing at a time... Thanks for your feedback and help. Best regards, Jean-Claude
