  1. Hi,

    from the op manual page 22 :

    "This "blue" button is a context-sensitive menu button. It's a menu button and the menu items change according to the selected chart type. This button is enabled as soon as a chart is shown in the modules area. Please see the sections "Progress (6)" and "Charts (7)"

    I'm still searching in the sections mentionned above but to be honest, I do not find why this chart options button is provided. In the route Setup page this button is always greyed out and when a chart is shown in the modules area, it no longer appears.

    thanks for providing some more info about this button

  2. Yep, Reed passed me some info and I have a good idea of what to do. Not difficult, just some parsing changes needed.

    Urs will likely upgrade by the weekend and have a looksee.

    anything new about that ?

    i'm currently using NOAA as my weather provider with the EFB DU. Tell me if i'm wrong but it seems to me the REX Essentials wx engine takes all the data from the NOAA database

    Thanks

  3. Thanks Urs

    as LFOB is not at all mentionned in the RadioAids change log (http://www.ivao.fr/dep/RadioAids/RadioA ... ngelog.txt) I assumed the LFOB rwys identifiers were not changed, I was wrong...

    "just remove the LFOB lines from your "runways.txt" file and the approach procedures will be available again" I'll try asap

    we now have an explanation for the Apch plate issue no longer available when RadioAids is installed. What about the similar SID&STAR issue ?

    "would you mind if I were changing the title of this thread to "EFB does not show approach procedures after installing RadioAids"

    I would say instead "EFB does not show SID&STAR and/or approach procedures after installing RadioAids"

    if you agree please go ahead

  4. Hi Urs,

    About the RadioAids Project from http://www.ivao.fr/dep/RadioAids/radioaids.html

    "The RadioAids project is intended to update the Flight Simulator navigation data (VOR, NDB, ILS) as well as some intersections (FS9), runway identifiers and signs so as they match as closely as possible the real data" (Europe only)

    from the RadioAids .pdf doc:

    "Flying the simulator with a high degree of realism requires that the navigation data are up-to-date. Provided packages are based on the latest AIPs and Jeppesen information; they include a collection of modified BGL files (build from default FSX files) that will update VORs and NDBs affecting instrument readings as well as FS map and GPS displays. Packages are released with a dedicated installer that will move the updated files to their final locations, backup the original FSX files and restore them if needed. Some packages (Europe) will also correct some ILS’s and runway changes in selected countries. As a general rule, a few NDB’s (those contained in airport BGL files (AP*.BGL) will not be corrected by the update as far as it only concerns the main navigation BGL files (NV*.BGL).

    My question : when installing RadioAids some EFB SID&STAR and/or APCH plates are no longer available (greyed out). This is the case at LFOB/Beauvais Tillé for example. It makes me think EFB is not RadioAids compatible in some cases.

    Have you got any idea why ?

  5. "Next time you come looking for help don't expect any response from me"

    I'm sorry you take my polite remark ("May I suggest....") this way. My intention was not yo be rude to anyone and to you in particular.

    I do not trust the so-called Google translation tool that gives strange and poor results most of the time.

    "which clearly shows The scenario of Tbilisi airport BETA 2004/FSX".

    Unless the contrary be clearly proved, I'm still thinking this beta is just a beta with some bugs/issues that make it FSX not compatible

  6. "No success here... as with William"

    Thanks Travis. Guess I'm rather lucky with my successful download of UGTB_Tbilisi AFCAD file.

    I've good reasons to suspect this file NOT to be FSX compatible but only FS9. I just found another one UGTB AFCAD that was made for FS9 :

    - 48 .bgl files in the scenery folder (43.9 Mo)

    - 255 .bmp files in the texture folder (64.2 Mo)

    - the scenery.dat file is 6.96 Ko "big"

    all theses figures are exactly the same in both UGTB downloads.

    May I suggest to all of us to make sure any recommended scenery/AFCAD file is FSX compatible before providing the corresponding link.

  7. "I cannot even download the scenery as every time I try it tells me to try again in 2 hours or pay..."

    It's a pity you cannot download the UGTB scenery. Rather strange cause it worked fine for me except it took some time, but much less than 2 hours.

    This russian site is not that clear for me (there is no way to switch to english) !! Just hope I clicked to the correct spot to download the UGTB scenery.

    Is there any of you who made a successful UGTB scenery installation ? If yes could you please tell me how to proceed ?

    Thanks

    PS I have some doubt : was this UGTB scenery made for FS9 or FSX or both ?

  8. "after adding the UGTB_Tbilisi in the FSX scenery library, UGGG is still there !! it has not been replaced by UGTB and UGTB is still missing"

    I should have mentionned I was talking about the FSX dadabase, not EFB, and for that reason I did not rescan with the EFB DataProvider after adding UGTB.

    Is the way I proceed (see above) to uptade Tbilisi with the UGTB AFACD is correct or not ?

    Thanks

  9. Thanks William for the link provided

    I just created a new folder UGTB_Tbilisi located in FSX/Addons Scenery with the following items :

    - folder Scenery (.bgl)

    - folder Texture (.bmp)

    - file scenery.dat

    after adding the UGTB_Tbilisi in the FSX scenery library, UGGG is still there !! it has not been replaced by UGTB and UGTB is still missing

    what did I do wrong with this AFCAD ?

    any help would be appreciated

  10. Hi Dion,

    I'm reactivating this thread posted some time ago.

    From your "kai tak update airac" file attached to your previous post I can read :

    ..\prgram files\MS FS\Aivlasoft\Navdata OR SidStars

    wpNavaid file:

    IGS LLZ/DME RWY 13 KL ILSD 22.003299 114.104167111.90T

    LLZ/DME RWY 31 IIHK ILSD 22.324500 114.193667109.90T

    IGS RWY 13 GP NDB 22.326833 114.092500331.00N

    I just can't find those lines in the wpNavaid file ? where are they ?

    thanks

  11. from the "How to VHHX.txt" :

    prerequisites

    =============

    - Add-on scenery "Kai Tak" from FlyTampa must be installed on the FSX computer

    - run "FSX scenery data update" from the DataProviders menu

    would it also work with the freeware "vhhx_ils_jv + vhhx_ils_jv.v1.1" author : Jim Vile, from AVSIM library ?

    thanks in advance

  12. "....for adding the ICAO airports to the Data block of the AI flights"

    ICAO depart + ICAO arrival both in the data block of AI ? Is that what you mean ?

    As far I remember and talking about AI, ICAO depart was already there but ICAO arrival was not with ????? instead

    is that so important to have such information for AI ?

  13. Thanks very much Travis and happy 2012 to the whole EFB team !

    From the changelog :

    "If the export module can handle procedures (SIDs, STARs, Approaches), select whether you want the procedures to be saved or not"

    how and where can I select to save or not ?

    "DataProvider's "computer name" can be set as a IP-address"

    where ? "Server Name or IP-adress" field of the TCP communication tab (DU remote PC) ?

    AFAIK, such an improvment was already implemented

    best regards

  14. Salut Travis,

    Thanks for you answer above.

    I just tried to uncheck the "include procedures box" (Route Setup window) and the SID and STAR of my planned route (that includes both types) are non longer included in the .rte export format !

    Have a try and let me know ! The SID&STAR exclusion might be already implemented...

    my planned route LFRK to LFRB : VIREX R492 DIN / SID VIRE4Y STAR DIN4B 25L

  15. "Strange - I always thought the N stands for North" and it does except in the EFB manual (page 10) for the reason Jack has just given above

    for your information, do you know that ?

    north hemisphere :

    4908E = N49° E008°

    49E08 = N49° E108°

    4908N = N49° W008°

    49N08 = N49° W108°

    south hemisphere :

    4908S = S49° E008°

    49S08 = S49° E108°

    4908W = S49° W008°

    49W08 = S49° W108°

    all of them are valid EFB fixes

  16. may I suggest you try the following route :

    KJFK MERIT3 MERIT PUT BOS TUSKY N63B VIXUN 5550N 5640N 5630N 5520N MALOT GISTI DUNLO DIBAL UL603 LAMSO LAMS1A EHAM

    where the coords are NAT-type (5 characters) : first 2 figures are the N lat, the second 2 are W lon, and N stands for NAT (see EFB manual)

    works fine as a saved FSX .pln

    Does it with Active Sky Evolution ? please check
