  1. Thanks for your help... I managed to get it installed. I'm not sure how, but the v 1.51 setup file I previously downloaded had become corrupted. After I uninstalled EFB from my FSX server, checked to make sure 3.5 framework was checked in Programs and Features, I still couldn't get it to install. Then, I downloaded a fresh copy, and got it to install properly. Go figure. Anyway, I'm up and running now... thanks for your help. Henry
  2. Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I can't even get to the initial configuration screen . After installing EFB v 1.51, when I run the data provider, I immediately get the "EFB data provider has stopped working" message box. I have tried running it as soon as I boot the PC, and I have tried running it with P3D up and running. The result is the same--> it immediately crashes. One question I asked remains... do I need to uninstall EFB on my FSX server before it will properly install and work on my P3D server? I also have read that EFB requires .NET 3.5 framework to run. I have updated my PC all the way to .NET 4.52 framework-- do I also need to go back and install the v 3.5 framework? Finally, I read that Port 13 in the firewall needs to be open "during the demo license..." Does this also need to be open if a demo license is NOT contemplated (I already have a KEY)? Thanks so much for your help. Henry
  3. I have been using EFB on my Microsoft FSX simulator (Windows 7 64-bit) for about 18 months. I recently downloaded and upgraded to V 1.51. Initially, I had a problem because of my anti-virus (Avast), but you helped me to solve that, and it has been working fine. Now, I have a different problem. I am in the process of switching from FSX to Prepar3d (v 2.4), and I have done all the installation and tuning on a new server, and am ready to install EFB on that system. I (apparently) completed the v 1.51 installation (using the earlier setup file I downloaded), but each time I try to run the Data Provider to configure it, EFB crashes ("EFB Data Provider has stopped working"). I am not running anti-virus on the new P3D server, so that can't be the issue. It occurred to me that perhaps I need to uninstall EFB from my FSX system before I can use it on the new P3D server... Is this correct? If so, do I need to download a new setup file, or can I use the v 1.51 setup file that I downloaded earlier. If this is not the problem, can you please give me some direction? Thanks in advance for your help. Henry
  4. Thanks... I turned off AV and reinstalled the old version with no issues. Also DL'd the new version and upgraded, also without issue. I've gotta say that it was a bit strange to not have this issue until 18 months after the initial installation... but whoever said that computers behave rationally? Thanks again for the advice. Henry
  5. Sorry about the rules violation . I will be sure to sign future posts. I will try your suggestion today. I guess I also need to update to the current version. How do I go about doing that? I installed the EFB back in August of 2013, and since it has run flawlessly since then, I've never bothered to update it. Thanks for the reply. -Henry
  6. I just had a very strange thing happen... the .exe file for the data provider vanished from the Aivlasoft directory. I searched the computer, but it is nowhere to be found. So, I uninstalled and re-installed EFB (version 1.3.9, which I've been using for nearly 18 months). The installation was successful. I clicked START>Programs>Aivlasoft> and then clicked on the Aivlasoft.data.provider.exe icon (shortcut), but got the message that Windows could not find the file. I searched the C drive, but it was nowhere to be found. Next, I uninstalled and again attempted to re-install, but at the end of the installation I got an error message: Error opening file for writing C:\...\Aivlasoft\EFB\Docs\EFB Installation and Configuration 2011.05.pdf. I clicked on RETRY, but got the same message. I clicked on IGNORE, and after 3 attempts the installation completed. I tried the Start>Programs... sequence again, but with the same results. It seems that no matter what I do, I am not able to successfully re-install EFB. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.
