Hi....When I takeoff from KLAX, I try to use the LOOP6 departure, which calls for a 234 heading and then heading back to the LAX vor. This last time, ATC told me that I should remain on 234 until instructed to turn. My question is this....a) why is there a SID if they routinely instruct pilots not to use it...and, more to the point, after I have entered the route and SID into EFB, how can I remove the initial vectors that it will make automatically? Can I omit the first two steps and just begin the SID with LAX? If so, how?
Thanks so much for your help!
Marty
