  1. Hi,

While performing some long distance flights, I am wondering how the flight log within EFB can be retained/continued? By pausing FSX and saving the current flight and then returning a day later to resume, I am wondering how the flight can be continued within EFB? The flight tracking part works fine if I load up the current EFB route. But the flight log does not continue.

Is there a way to enable the log to continue wher I left off?

    thx

  2. Hi Andy,

Nope, that's the only .BGL AFCAD available. All others appear to be scenery object related.

However I did try one other thing and I deleted the EGCC entries in the Runways.txt file and now the SIDs are all available. Go figure...

Do you know why the runways.txt file would inhibit the SIDs and not the STARs???

This doesn't make any sense to me. Still baffled. Hope you have an answer....??

    Cheers

    Mark

  3. Hi URs,

Oooops! Sorry about that. Thx for editing.

Yes, I can confirm I took the FSX-related BGL.

Anyway I double checked as you suggested by recompiling the .BGL file in ADEX and it was fine recompling - no errors. I added the recompiled .BGL into the UK2000 scenery folder , re-ran the scenery update in the DP and exactly the same issue. SIDS are not available but the STARS are for some reason.

    Mark

  4. Sorry, small correction to one of my first statements made above ...

It should have read... "The issue is I am seeing is at EGCC, the STARS are correctly made available when selecting Airports/All Airports but if I select the Departures tab then no available SIDs are shown at all. Everything is greyed out including selectable departures , transitions and runways. It does however show favored runways 05R, 23L."

  5. Hi Guys,

Hope you can help me out here.. I'm baffled...

The issue is I am seeing is at EGCC, the STARS are correctly made available when selecting Airports/All Airports but if I select the Departures tab then no available SIDs are shown at all. Everything is greyed out including selectable approaches and runways.

I have the UK2000 EGCC demo loaded and am using the latest Afcad from their site, v1.4. The .BGL being used is EGCC_afx_UK2xTRMWEST.BGL as I was planning for a 23L departure. This is confirmed if I go to the Airport Info section of EFB. I also checked that in the Airport Info section both 05R and 23L are set for takeoffs.

Here's what I have checked and done...

    1. Checked the EGCC.txt SIDSTARS file and this looks to be OK . Snapshot below.

Edited by AivlaSoft (2013-01-06): Removed content of EGCC.txt due to copyright restrictions.

    2. I have assigned the EGCC scenery to the #1 position in the FSX library.

    3. I have run the scenery update function in the EFB Data Provider and also cleared out the cache in the EFB Display Unit.

    4. I have checked my runways.txt file which was updated because of the different runway assignments at EGCC. It looks like this...

Any reason why I am not able to view any SIDs for this airport? I checked EGLL and EGBB and they are fine in EFB for both SIDS and STARS. For some reason the SIDS for EGCC are not showing. :?

    Any help would be appreciated.

  6. Hi Urs,

Yes, when I got the runway mismatch warning from EFB originally , I entered those 4 lines in Runways.txt and the mismatch errors disppeared, but what surprised me was EFB showed no 2nd runway or any of the taxiways based on the .BGL in use although in FSX they are physically there. I did then remove those entries as in other posts I read, this had seemed to cause an issue but the same problem remains.

I'm wondering why EFB is not picking the 2nd runway and taxiways up??? The .BGL when loaded into ADE shows the 2nd runway, the taxiways and all the gates. I assume even with the demo version for example, even if only a few gates are populated with FSX jetways, EFB should be able to pick up all the assigned parking spaces up (with or without the jetways).

I will try and post a screenshot of what I am seeing in EFB.

    Stay tuned!

    Regards

    Mark

  7. Hi Urs,

    Just some more info...

When the DP strarts up and am positioned at EGGC, there are 4 warnings about EFB trying to assign runways but it says only 06L/24R exists in FSX then it finds the mismatch between Rwy 23 in the Navdata and 24 in FSX.

I also tried deleting my Scenery Index folder and have FSX rebuild but still the same issue.

The more I look at this, the more I feel this is a scenery issue with the demo version. I will raise a question over on the UK2000 forum to see if they can confirm the demo is inhibiting taxiways and runways in some way. From what I read not all jetways show and of course the scenery buildings are very limited in this version, but I would expect the runways to be active.

  8. Hi Guys,

This airport seems to get a lot of attention for some reason in the forum and having read a few threads, I'm still unfortunately no further forward in solving my problem.

    Background

I'm running UK2000's free demo of EGGC which in FSX looks OK, but inside EFB on the Ground Chart, I see a number of issues:-

    • only one runway is displayed (06R/24L) - there should be 2 based on what I see in FSX
    • there's no parking spots displayed at all on the Ground chart.... really weird
    • there's no taxiways shown at all - just the apron area but nothing linking 06R/24L to the terminal
    • minor issue was the runways were mistmatched between FSX and the current AIRAC hence an update iof the runways.txt file was needed
    • I'm currently using the AIRAC cycle 1208 for EFB (downloaded last week) - in the EFB/Navadata folder and the EGCC.txt file I see entries for both runways 24L/R and 06L/R

Does anyone have an idea what is the issue? Is this a scenery demo problem or an EFB issue???

I have already tried the following:-

    • run the EFB FSX scenery update in the EFB Data Provider after install of EGCC demo -no errors apart from the expected FSX to EFB mismatch of runways
    • cleaned the cache from the Display Unit
    • also uninstalled and re-installed EGGC free demo scenery
    • I assume that even if this is a demo with limited features, both runways should show plus the parking spots? I only see 24L/06R for some reason in EFB?In FSx I can selrct various parking spots so these are recognized by FSX.
    • I did try using the other supplied .bgl files in the scenery (default was EGCC_AFX_UK2xGEN.BGL, but also tried EGCC_AFX_UK2xTRMW.BGLonly using one at time in the scenery folder, but I still have the same result
    • the good news is I didn't have any issues with the arrival to 24L
    • I opened the AFX file mentioned above in ADE and the taxiways and apron are definitely present.

Anyway, thoughts and ideas would be appreciated. :?:

  9. Hi,

I’m looking for some help with the Ground charts and some incorrect interpretation of gates etc being shown.I have already read the forum posts for EHAM and LSZH that describe similar issues but in this case they do not really apply to my situation. Can you help? There are several issues I see: Is there any way to fix these?

I’m running a non-commercial scenery add-on for Frankfurt which has only one .BGL file and an associated _CVX.BGL exclude file in the Add-on scenery folder. This is the only active Frankfurt scenery in the FSX library. There are no sub folders or option folders for the scenery like others have reported. Having performed the Data Provider Data/FSX Scenery update function I still see the following problems:-

    Capture2.jpg

    1. The location of the Tower is not in the correct position on the Ground chart for some reason. See circled area in red at the top of the screenshot. When checking in ADE there are no objects found at the location depicted by “TWR” on the EFB Ground chart. How is this detected in EFB and how can this be resolved?

    2. Some gate symbols are missing the dark blue border where gates are located. This seems to be haphazard as others do show e.g. C11 gate is fine but C13, C14, C15 etc at Terminal 2 do not. I have checked ADE and the list of gates with jetways are listed as “1” in the Jetway column within ADE.

    3. Some Cargo spots are not showing as cargo spots (they remain as std parking gates in blue) even though they are coded as “RAMP_CARGO. In a small experiment, leaving the parking type unchanged as “RAMP CARGO”, I changed the name of an erroneous spot with a NAME set originally to “Gate_F 219” to “Parking 219”. As depicted in the screenshot, this changed the color from blue to yellow. I suspect EFB is not looking at the parking type and instead somehow interpreting the name of the spot instead. Is this correct or how is this working? How is EFB detecting the type of parking spot between airliner traffic and cargo flights?

I’m happy to do some t/shooting to help improve the layout of the ground chart. Since I am the developer of the add-on scenery I have the flexibility on making changes to the scenery if needed. Your help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mark
