  1. FIXED PROBLEM!!!! Yea me,,, gave up on EFB until last weekend when I ran into a another problem with a different program. While trouble shooting it reminded me to ensure that I had Simconnect from Prepar3D Reloaded if I removed FSX. For those that have just Prepar3D and not FSX loaded you and you are having a problem getting the Display Unit to work, follow these steps: Go to your Root folder for Prepar3D Go to redist/Interface/FSX-RTM/retail/lib and then double click on SimConnect.msi then go to , redist/Interface/FSX-SP1-RUS/retail/lib and then double click on SimConnect.msi Remove and reinstall EFB Restart Prepar3d Start EFB and follow the installation manual instructions. Your Welcome! Ken
  2. Still cannot run EFB on single system and does not look like from lack of post no solution insight. So as it stands single cpu install is not possible for Prepar3d only users. Is that about the facts? If not open to solutions!
  3. Made some headway, I now have the Display Unit working, the only thing is I had to network it. So if it will work on a Network but not as a single setup, what is the commonality? Is it SimConnect? Is there an issue with the P3D version? Ken
  4. Tried another reinstall after cleaning the drives of older installation, EFB still fails when I start the Display Unit. I still have not seen an answer to the question, Does EFB work without FSX installed and only Prepar3d ver 2.4? Any help guys! Ken
  5. Tried your recommendations but no luck, attached is a snap shot of the error. Again, can this program run without FSX and just P3D? Any help would be appreciated. Ken
  6. Checked my Framework installation and I show to have NET Framework 4.5 Multi-Targeting Pack NET Framework 4.5 Net SDK NET Framework 4.5.1 Ken Dickerson
  7. Thank you for getting back to me, The operating system I am using is Win7 and is not new to my system. I do have the four files that you highlighted, but I did see a file on mine that is not on yours, 958524da-978d-41c5-b566-d3a6fac59a6e.index *( when I opened it in edit it looks a ICAO roster for airports. The event viewer consistently shows: Fault bucket , type 0 Event Name: CLR20r3 Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: aivlasoft.efb.displayunit.exe P2: 1.5.1.15702 P3: 52f9d997 P4: Castle.MicroKernel P5: 1.0.3.0 P6: 483a52e4 P7: 1a P8: a4 P9: WM0DLCLN0FFELNNYQUIWRCMEAUTRMMW2 P10: Attached files: C:\Users\Dragon\AppData\Local\Temp\WERE1A8.tmp.WERInternalMetadata.xml These files may be available here: C:\Users\Dragon\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WER\ReportArchive\AppCrash_aivlasoft.efb.di_b6588fe72032a027ee83b04a2c3cae161bf3e121_0d5aeb77 Analysis symbol: Rechecking for solution: 0 Report Id: f1fda1b6-5a4f-11e4-bde0-448a5b58545c Report Status: 1 I have PC MATIC installed but EFB ran with no problem when I installed it, the only thing that has changed is FSX has been removed. Again Thank You , Ken Dickerson
  8. Day 2 - No response so far. Did another clean reinstall, and confirmed the DataProvider has established connection to P3D, but when DataProvider activated initial problem still present and crashes.
  9. I have had EFB for a while now. since Aug 2012 and have never had an issue until now. I have version 1.5.1. The other day I removed FSX and just have Prepar3D ver 2.4. Tonight was the first time I had a chance to fly my sim since cleaning out FSX, now when I load, the Data Provider runs just fine, but when I go to the Display Unit I get the error: ComponetActivator: could not instantiate da then following this I get a series of errors that start with - at CastleMicroKernel............................. Is it that EFB must have FSX? If not is there something that I need to do. I have completely removed EFC but the issue comes back the minute I start the Display Unit. Help!
