  1. One thing I should mention, and it is a paradox, that FSX can suck the life out of SC, and SC can suck the life out of FSX. For example, I did a flight (in the NGX) from Monastir in Tunisia, to Berlin Tegel, once you get to italian airspace the ai traffic starts to build up, even more so in German airspace, and UT2 @100% stayed on the display unit. Landed at EDDT, ai still on the DU. (GEX and UTX, and GAP EDDT. Next flight, KSFO (flightbeam with AS SFO cities) to KLAS (Mega Nevada, AS Las Vegas Cities, and FSDT KLAS) Ai stayed on the board till I reached the border at Nevada. This is when resources are starting to bite, AI started to drop off the DU. abeam KLAS, OOM error, end of flight. I have a fairly high end system, and even in the MD11, it OOM's at that very spot. Do I need to up the numbers in the SC xml ? probably not, removing AS cities or Mega Nevada, yes. Now the flight I did in Europe as described above, if I did the same flight with the default number @10, the AI falls off the DU. Something to think about, whilst having a coffe and listening to your GPU fan breaking the sound barrier. Regards Julian
  2. As Jack said, you need to manipulate the number a bit. As there is so many variables when dealing with simconnect (Pity aces only half did the job) that this may not work, if it all for some. It is possiable down the track, I add another SC required addon, and then I am back to square one. Now, if you are wondering if the creators of simconnect understood how it worked, probably not, and we can be forgiven for not understanding it either. I think if you have the number too high, that has the same effect if it is too low. Don't be disappointed if it does not work for you, I am sure someone will offer a better solution than I have. regards Julian
  3. Ok Jack, you may have to play with max user number to hit the sweet spot, so will be interested how you get on. Regards Julian
  4. Hi everyone, Have been using NGX and EFB for about a week now with no simconnect issues after making a change in the simconnect.xml file. So, now all the AI aircraft show up on the board, and stay on the board, and UT2 planes do not disapear from FSX anymore. To see if this works for others who are experiencing this issue, I have pasted the change you need to make below, and it is very easy. Please note, for every addon that requires simconnect, via network or on the fsx pc, count each addon as 5. So for example, I have UT2, NGX,EFB,ASE, so that makes total of 20. So, scroll down to 10< Default number is 10, Now change it to 20. If you have 5 addons that require simconnect, make that number 25. reboot computer. This is not a proven fix till it is tried by other users, otherwise I will look a complete goose, but I have been running now for a week with no more simconnect issues using the tweak. Please reply in this thread your results. Simconnect.xml can be found in the same folder as your FSX.CFG. I would suggest using notepad + to edit the xml, to be safe. Just type Notepad + in google, it is freeware. Edit: For those who fly online, Vatsim, IVAO etc, this may work for you, I don't know as I do not fly online. Maybe you have to up the numbers a bit, i'm not sure. Regards Julian
  5. Thanks everyone for your reply's, imagine how wonderful simconnect could have been, if they finished it.
  6. I posted this on the NGX forum today. Everyone seems to think it is an issue with the NGX, which I am not so sure it is. This is what I posted: "It has been happening before the NGX was released. I have been using EFB for over 6 months, and the AI would slowly disappear over time. It did this with the MD11 and the other 737. It is a simconnect issue, and unless you can make simconnect able to take more requests than just weather, it will continue to bust it's pipe so to speak. When EFB is requesting , UT2 sometimes will spit the dummy and depart from FSX, then it is a case of Cntrl-shift-R to bring it back on line. I use via network, ASE, FSC9, RC4, EFB. (Wide FS required for FSC9 and RC4)" So how is it possible that the NGX causes AI aircraft to fall off the Dispaly unit, when it has been happening for quite some time. I posted about this in April or May, on this very forum. Posted about this here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=535
  7. Fixed!! Dodgy afcad. Why is the most obvious the last thing you look at ?
  8. Hi everyone, Wondering if some of you get the chance to check KLAX in EFB display unit. I did an approach into KLAX for rnwy 24L (PMDG NGX) and on the DU, it gave a course heading of 69 degrees, and localizer freq of 111.70 which of course is for 7R. All runways were reversed so to speak, 24R was displaying the loc for 7L. You must be using Arac cycle 1109. If anyone else is experiencing this, please reply and will post on Navigraph forum. Cheers Julian Edit: Checked the airac airport txt file, and looks ok ? Shows course heading of 249 deg. So why is EFB showing reverse approach ? Been using EFB for 6 months now, and not experienced this. 9. Thank you Urs for the explanation, much appreciated Kind Regards Julian
  10. Hi EFB Team, I purchased recently and must say it is a first rate addon for FSX and learning something everyday. But when you get to my age, somethings just go over my head, one of them is the error messages I get always half way through a flight using the PMDG MD11 or ifly 737, and the message reads as follows in the data window: Exception from FSX received: TOO_MANY_REQUESTS 2011-06-11 01:49:16,327 [1] ERROR AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] - Exception from FSX received: TOO_MANY_REQUESTS (repeated ...) 2011-06-11 02:20:42,557 [13] WARN AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider [(null)] Then it crashes, and sometimes it does not. And to top it off, all my AI traffic gets vapourised, and have to press cntrl shift T to bring it back. Also ai won't show up on progress page at times, sometime only half of what is actually at the airport. This problem, as described above, happens at airports in Europe, USA and Oceania. OS W7 64 FSX SP2 8G Ram 2600K CPU GTX 580 VD Display Unit running on a network. Other addons running at the time are: ASE (networked) RC4 (Networked) Topcat (networked and run only at pre-flight) FSC 8.5 ( only too provide AI view as EFB is not consistant) Edit: using UT 2 for AI, updated to current version. Sorry for the long winded post, and would appreciate any help you can offer. Kind Regards Julian Evans
