    Quick update request/suggestion.

    Hey Urs,

     

    I'm starting to really enjoy the new version.  It took a while but it's starting to grow on me now.

    Just a couple of little things that would be nice to have in a future update.

     

    1.  Including SIDS/STARS in the lower Flight Plan field.  I use this area to copy/paste to other tools(ie vPilot, ACARS, etc..) when setting up my flight.  It was very handy in v.1.  It would be nice to have that capability back in v.2.(Se pic below.  Notice the SID "LOTO3Q" is not included in the highlighted summarised flight route below.  It would be nice to have these included again.)

     

    2.  This one may have been mentioned many times.  Including the online ATC in order of sequence would be nice to have again.  Maybe just having it in order on the Radio page would be nice.

     

    3.  This is more of a bug I believe.  I cannot "Set FPL" when selecting a RWY/SID in the DEP tab when P3D is not loaded or even on the the scenario page.  It has to be fully loaded and on the ground in order to "Set FPL".  I can do it all on the ARR page without the sim running.

    Hi Boris,

     

    unfortunately IVAO (and VATSIM too) have not yet an official download page where add-ons could download their latest FIR boundary definitions. So I fear you have to try to get the data files using your contacts. I wrote so many emails to both of these organizations, asking for up-to-date data, but no one could help me so far. I can't believe it that nobody is responsible for such an important part of these organizations.

     

    Wow!  That's pretty sad but not surprising.  You get what you pay for...or don't pay for in this case.

    I do remember, a while back, I posted an issue with a large GS variance between EFB and the latest IvAp (IVAO) client.

    I'll get back to you after doing some TAS comparisons. I never thought of obtaining those readings...

     

    ***Update: A couple of tests.

     

    Online AC #1:

    EFB reading= 422kts (EFB set to GS)

    Actually:

    GS 431kts

    TAS 447kts

    IAS 277kts

     

    Online AC #2:

    EFB = 439kts (EFB set to GS)

    Actual:

    GS 447kts

    IAS 292kts

     

    So far it doesn't look like it's even TAS on EFB. I'll ask for more tonight.

    Hey Urs,

     

    I've tried what you suggested. I've noticed that it is actually much closer to the actual speed of others than originally stated. It seems both IAS and GS on EFB is averaging around 15-20kts more than what the other online pilots are doing.

     

    For example: DAL2022 was seeing a GS of 535 and on the EFB AC monitor was reading it as 553kts. Around the same difference for the IAS.

     

    So it must of been one of the patches of vPilot that may have reduced the speed differences... not sure. But it has been awhile since I really looked into it.

    Gents,

     

    It's been a while! Hope all is going well with v2.

     

    Quick observation when flying VATSIM using vPilot. I've notice that the speeds seem to be quite a bit off using GS or IAS when viewing other online traffic. I've tested with a few pilots online and what they report to me for GS is a few hundred knots less than what I see in EFB using Ground Speed selection. When using IAS setting, their actual GS is a couple hundred knots higher than what I see.

     

    Just wondering if that is a known issue with vPilot or am I missing something?

    EFB Update not picking up new airport installs.

    Greetings,

     

    Just came across a weird issue. I've installed a new freeware airport addon, Cairo 2011 v1.0 Freeware Scenery, and for some reason EFB is not picking up the new install. Still only adds the default FSX one. This addon has all the new runways, parking & taxi ways. Works fine within FSX and FSC.

     

    Checked the log and there were no errors.

    Log:
