  1. Have removed Foxit - reinstalled Adobe Reader.....and now i am back to the security warnings! Will now delete Reader and reinstall FoxIt to see what happens. What a fandango!
  2. Travis - thanks for update - I too am completely confused Tom - I i drag a PDF into my browser then it launches in a new FoxIt window. I will try removing Foxit altogether and see if that makes a difference. Chris
  3. Hi. Have been away for a week so now back and continuing to search for a solution. I have Adobe Reader on my PC (as well as FoxIt Reader). Have been playing with the settings of both IE and Adobe but to no avail....am still getting the small icon when I read PDF files. Have run out of ideas!!!
  4. Thanks for continuing to help. Some additional info....I have just upgraded to version 5 of FoxIt Reader - which I use to open PDF files rather than Adobe Reader. One of its options is to "Display PDF in Browser" - with this unchecked, the EFB throws the security error. But with it checked, I no longer get the security error, and the EFB appears to open the PDF but it does not display. Instead, I get a tiny icon in the top left corner of the browser and right clicking does not offer any relevant options. Hopefully I have managed to attach a JPEG screenprint to show you what I am talking about....In terms of your specific questions: Can you read other documents (HTML, TXT, etc) from the Display Unit Library? YES I assume you've copied the tutorial from your FSX folders into your \Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData\Library\ area, correct? YES Can you read other PDFs that are in your \Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData\Library\ folders using the Display Unit Library? NO - I HAVE MOVED ALL SORTS OF PDF FILES AND THE OUTCOME IS THE SAME (SMALL ICON IN TOP LEFT CORNER) If you answered yes to that, can you read other PDFs that are in the same folder as your iFly tutorial using the Display Unit Library? SEE ABOVE If you answered yes to that, could you try making a copy of the tutorial (in Explorer) in the same folder and making sure the Access Control List is very liberal? (Add "Everyone - Read" to the Security tab under the file's Properties.) I CAN OPEN THE TUTORIAL.PDF IN INTERNET EXPLORE OR FIREFOX AND IT WILL OPEN IN A POP-UP FOXIT WINDOW Thanks for your ongoing support Chris
  5. Hi Urs Thanks for response - yes, I hage googled. Also changes all of my IE security options to least security...and still no success on PDF files. TXT files open ok but not standard PDFs! I cannot fathom this out! Chris
  6. It does make sense thanks. The PDF is the Tutorial for the iFly! I have also made sure that the EFB is running administrator. Not sure if this means it is running at the same security level? How would I know? Thanks for assistance Chris
  7. Hi - the PDF is on my computer in a directory off the Library directory....and yes it does open in my internet explorer (firefox) Chris
  8. Hi. Am looking for help please in using the Library. I have followed the manual to a tee but when clicking on PDF files in the Modules/Library area I get the following error messagbox: "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded". I am using Win7/64, have the UAC switched off and have reduced the security settings in the Internet Explorer options page. Also, have searched the forum and the EFB manual to no avail. I suspect this is really simple to fix....all help gratefully received. Many thanks. Chris
