  1. Hello All,

I have the following problem. When I create a flight plan everything functions as expected except for the departure procedure.

All runways and SID procedures are displayed in the Departure window but the Set FPL button is never available. It is always blacked out.

As you can see from the screen shot the procedure is displayed as expected on the map.

The resulting saved flight plan has everything apart from the departure procedure. Any help would be appreciated.

  2. Hallo Urs,

I'm afraid this is not the problem.

My flight plan was created in EFB itself. However, after saving I cannot reload it into EFB.

I have attached the fault message and log files.

I cannot upload the flight plan because I receive the following:

"The upload was rejected because the uploaded file was identified as a possible attack vector".

    Thanks for your help.

  3. Hi,

Since upgrading to Version 1.5 I have the following problem:

Creating a flight plan works perfectly. I then save the file as a normal FSX flight plan (.pln).

However, when I try to reload the plan I receive the error message "Unhandled exception .....

Object reference not set to an instance of an object"

The flight plan still works correctly in FSX and Prepar3D.

    Any help appreciated.

  4. Hi Urs,

I have been using EFB for a long time with the display unit being on both the same PC as FSX, and also on a networked PC.

I recently had a BSD on the PC running both the provider and display units. Since then I get the following fault message when I start the Display Unit.

The Display Unit on the networked PC functions normally.

I have tried a complete re-install without success.

  5. Hi Urs,

    Thanks for your promt reply.

I have had SP4 installed for both units since it was introduced.

Everything was working fine until this morning. When I received the first warning message I re-installed both the DP and DU.

I have now deleted the file FormSettings.bin and re-installed both again. However everything is still the same. Is this the correct file? If not which settings file do I have to delete?

  6. Hallo All

I now have a new Internet provider and also a new router.

However, when I try to connect the remote Display Unit to the Data Provider, over my network, I receive the following fault message:

Socket Exception: The requested name is valid, but no data of the requested type was found.

I also receive the message when I activate the button for checking the server name.

Nothing has changed, other than the new router.

I have checked all the settings, including the name of the server, and everything seems correct.

The local Display Unit functions normally.

I have also checked that the Display Unit is not being blocked by the firewall.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  7. So can we conclude that the "typical" network that is set up through the "Network Wizard" and a router will not work? One must have a network set up through a network switch? My trial expires on the 15th!!!

I have such a "typical" network using a router, which functions correctly.

The Data Provider is installed on my main PC with Win 7 64 bit, and the Display Unit is on a second PC with Vista 32 bit.

The only thing I remember doing was mapping the network drives on the Vista PC, and installing the Flight Plans and UserData folders on the"D" drive of the Win 7 PC.

  8. Hi Travis,

I think I did not explain correctly.

    The situation is as follows:

I have already created with EFB a normal flight plan "StartAirport - waypoints - waypoints - waypoints - DestinationAirport" and saved it as an EFB plan, and also as a FSX plan.

Now (using your method) I start a flight in MSFS Free Flight, choosing the DestinationAirport and Gate. I must now "inject" the flight plan using EFB.

Which flight plan do I use? The EFB plan or the MSFS plan.

Maybe I am missing something but I do not use the Garmin GPS flight plans.

    Regards Terry

  9. Hi Travis,

I have tried your method and it works as you say "with a few more clicks".

However, just to be exactly clear, how do you inject the flight plan into MSFS.

Also, which plan do you use? From EFB or from MSFS.

In answer to your question, FSPassengers does not require an actual gate number.

    Regards Terry

  10. Thanks for the reply. I will not change anything in the EFB files.

The reason for wanting the gate number in the flight plan is because I use AES and FSPassengers, and that is normally where a flight starts from.

I would have thought that this adds more realism to the Flight Simulator.

  11. Hallo,

I was wondering if there is anyway in EFB to enter the actual departure gate at the origin airport (as in the flight planner FSC 8/9).

At the moment I edit the FSX plan saved by EFB by changing the Departure Position from, for example, 27L to GATE 408, or as required. This works very well in the FSX flight plan. However, I have not attempted to change the DepartureProcedureInfo in the efbr file.

    Thanks for the great software.

  12. Hello,

I would really like to try out your wonderful-sounding program, but I have been stumped during the set-up process.

I cannot get my Window 7 computer to share the Data provider files, in this case, C:\Users\Tom\AppData\Local\AivlaSoft\EFB\AivlaSoft.Efb.DataProvider, with my laptop running Win XP. I got far enough to get my laptop to show the directory, but when I go to My Network Places on the display computer and try to remotely open the the AppData folder I get an error message saying it's not accessible.

I have successfully set up sharing between these two computers as in say, my Flight Simulator X Files folder, but I can't get the AppData and subfolders to share. I did notice that the AppData folder is "hidden," so I changed it and all subfolders to an unhidden state, but that didn't help either.

It does no good to say, "check your operating systems instructions on how to share files," because most of those instructions are way above my level of understanding.

Perhaps someone who has Windows 7 and has successfully completed this step could walk me, and others who may be experiencing this problem, through the process step-by-step. I can tell you it would be much appreciated by me.

    Thanks in advance,

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

I had exactly the same problem. I managed to solve it by mapping the C:\ drive on the computer with FSX.

To do this open Windows Explorer and go to the C:\ drive. Open the Tools menu and click on the "Map Network Drive" item.

This worked for me. I cannot remember now but I may have done this on both computers.

    Hope this helps.

  13. I have tried to attach the route as requested but the extension efbr is not allowed. How can I email it to you?

I am using the Airac 1002.

Perhaps the problem lies with the runway designations in " wpNavAPT.txt" from Navgraph and "Runways.txt".

    In my "Runways.txt" file for EGCC I have 06R 05R 06L o5L 24R 23R 24L 23L.

    In the Navgraph file I have 05L 05R 23L 23R.

    Regards

    Terry

  14. When I try to modify a route, the departure runway, on the departures tab, is not accessible and therefore the SID's or transitions are greyed out and also not accessible.

    The route is activated normally.

    The arrivals tab functions correctly.

How do I access the departure runway etc.

I have just noticed something perculiar.

When I enter a route from EGCC (Manchester) to EGKK (London Gatwick) the above described problem arises.

However, when I enter the reverse route, EGKK to EGCC, everything functions normally.

What could be the reason for this? Both airports are from UK2000 Scenery.
