  1. This is a sad day indeed.

I realize that there is Navigraph & LIttle Nav Map, but they do not have the ease of installation & use that EFB has.

Hopefully there can be a solution so that we can continue to use this great product until technology eventually makes it unusable (i.e. MSFS 2024 or Windows updates).

for what it's worth to the conversation, vpilot has added the .ctaf <airport> command from the chat window. Not as good as it would be in the ATC ribbon, but at least we don't have to go bumbling around for charts.

I saw that and if you right click on the frequency, you can tune your com1 radio to that frequency.

Agreed, it is not as good as if it was in the ATC ribbon, but it is a good work around.

It depends on which GPS system is in use.

As far as we could investigate in the meantime, it seems that with the latest MSFS update (AAU1) the GPS systems do no longer accept a flight plan loaded externally (e.g. by EFB). It seems that it is only possible to load a flight plan from the 'World screen' BEFORE you start your flight. This will also prevent from any external modifications inflight and therefore it will also no longer be possible to load a 'Zulu' flight plan while you are airborne.

In other words, once the flight plan has been loaded, you have to manage your flight plan using the buttons, switches and rotary knobs given by the different GPS systems, G1000/G3000 and also GNS430/530 which are maintained now by Working Title.

We are very sorry that obviously Asobo/MS or Working Title decided that the development of the GPS systems is going in this direction, because this way  EFB loses one of its elementary functions in combination with the following GPS systems: G1000/G3000, GNS430/530 (all maintained by Working Title).  However there are still a few other GPS-systems around which are NOT (yet) concerned from this latest change.

Would it be possible to be able to add an option to export an MSFS 2020 flight plan from EFB to the sim? There is the option for FSX/P3D, but it is not the same format and MSFS 2020 does not recognize it. This would be a good temporary work around.

  4. Since updating to v2.2 Build #128, I am no longer showing as being on VATSIM in EFB no do I have the ATC Ribbon or soft buttons.

I review the various documentation and I did not find anything that may point to what the problem is.

I know the VATSIM data server is correctly configured with the right address and I do see other VATSIM aircraft in EFB.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

  5. Sorry if someone has already asked this question, but I couldn't find anything on it.

If I make a change in my flight plan in EFB (SID, STAR, departure or arrival runway) is there a way to synchronize this with the flight plan in MSFS 2020?

At present, I load my FP from SimBrief in MSFS 2020, but if I make any changes in the my flight plan with EFB, my flight plan is deleted in the sim.

So you should ask why PRO-ATC X can't do an export directly for your payware aircraft. Probably because of the same reason EFB doesn't. They are not flight planning tools. Converting flight plans should stay with the software where the plans are prepared. Or even better, payware aircraft should accept standard formats and not require a special format. Just because everyone is inventing an own flight plan format, it cannot be the job of other developers to feed that format.

I guess the point is that this feature existed in v1.x of EFB. The work was already done, so why not add the existing exporters to v2.x?

  7. I am also very disappointed that that there are no exporters in v2.0.

I understand all the real-world stuff, etc. and I can certainly enter FPs manually into a FMC, but it was very convenient and saves some time. Between flight planning, fuel calculations, etc. it was a very useful feature to be able to export FPs for common payware aircraft such as PMDG, etc. which doesn't have a flight planner like Quality Wings, etc.

I hope that exporters are reconsidered.

  8. My apologies if this has already been discussed. I couldn't find any previous reference regarding this.

A lot of add-on scenery is now installed outside of P3D the \Users\USERNAME\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons folder using add-on.xml file which means there are no longer any entries in the scenery.cfg folder, which means EFB no longer detects the airport runways, taxiways, etc.

imageSim KATL, Aerosoft Anchorage Professional, FSDreamTeam Vancouer, etc. all use this new approach to installing scenery.

Is it possible to have an additional box in the settings to point to the path where these add-ons are located?
