    OK, so I am not entitled to my own opinion, even if says so in the manual?

     

    I understand that it is new, but I still think it still has the same usability, the buttons maybe be somewhere else, or a different concept behind it, but to *use* it, I really didn't need a manual. What I used for my first flight was very intuitive, and very well done, and coming from EFBv1, everything was clear to me off the bat. This is why I bought it.

     

    Nevertheless, I did not read past Quickstart (yet).

     

    And the error above, might be a one time thing, it may not. Time will tell. I was merely reporting it.

    1) I installed both Server and Client As Administrator. I always do that when installing. Maybe important, EFBv1 was installed, I have it too. But it's not uninstalled, and all folders I could find under %APPDATA%, both roaming and local, %PROGRAMDATA% and Documents were prior to installation of v2 deleted.

    2) I did not read the manual previously, but it appears I did everything right, as the procedure to set things up didn't really change much from EFBv1.

    3) I don't know if it'll return, I will have to re-do the flight / fly other flight. The flight was from LOWW to EDDN, and the message above popped up just after takeoff. EFBv2 Client didn't close though, so I don't know what this was. I also can't find anything in the Event Viewer. The scenario was quite simple: loaded the client, loaded the flight (FPL generated by PFPX), did everything like I did in EFBv1, as in setting up my DEP, taxi, Radios etc. Then I took off, and immediately after I rotated, the message appeared. I clicked Continue, and had no further errors. I can't really say what the last interaction was, but I guess it had something to do with the departure. I might have moved the map, or moved the Radio window...

    That is really new to me. I didn't know that it's a matter of the pilot client software. Will do some tests in the next few days. Thanks for the analysis.

    by SimConnect is around 200 km (~ 108 NM).

     

    Yes, that is exactly what I'm seeing. I see aircraft all around me, miles and miles while flying, while not visible in FSX (no red text) - I know about the FSX limitation.

     

    But in no way EFB can show more traffic than FSX provides.

     

    Yes, I totally get that. But the problem here is opposite - FSX displayed, EFB didn't

    Now what you need to be aware of is that in SBOX and FSinn you can set the distance that aircraft are depicted and also the number of aircraft depicted are drawn.

     

    I am aware of that. It's set to furthest away and also set to display lots of aircraft (would have to take a look now how many).

    In the picture I was missing that aircraft, there were 3 aircraft in TOTAL visible.

     

    FSX and FS9 only actually draws aircraft at a distance upto 10nm from your position.

     

    I know. My EFB was displaying aircraft that were up to 100nm away, and still the one that flew just in front of me, was visible in FSX, but not in EFB. I wrote that already in the first post...

     

    If you put lables on and have an aircraft steadily moving away from you you will see the label go off at ten miles.

     

    They are on.

     

    So there is no point in having the draw distance of aiercraft in SBox or Fsinn set to any higher than that.

     

    Why not? EFB is displaying the aircraft way further, compared to FSX.

     

    As regards the number of multiplayer aircraft to have either of them draw I set this to about ten. You will rarely see more than ten aircraft on the grd at any onetime.

     

    It doesn't matter how many aircraft I let it draw.

    The fact is:

    There were 3 AI online according to EFB in my vicinity of 100nm.

    There were about 5 AI according to ServInfo.

    The one close to me, not even 10nm was visible in FSX. But not in EFB.

     

    So, thanks for your suggestions, but it didn't sort me out.

    I always had missing traffic in EFB. Some aircraft would display, some not.

    On the flight today, I asked some guys to report me back which online client they are using.

     

    I am using SB4. All others that were using SB4 were seen by EFB. All that were using FSINN weren't. AI aircraft monitor also shown only SB4 users. But FSX saw both.

     

    In fact, I just now had an aircraft passing in front of me, I could see it, ServInfo saw it, but EFB didn't. The user was using FSINN.

     

    Do I have something wrong in my setup?

    Shouldn't this get updated as Navigraph updates their datebase?

     

    EDIT: I'm not quite happy with this solution, as I don't like tweaking something that should be working, but oh well...

     

    But I DO NOT have to enter ALL the runways new, especially those that didn't change?

    Hello,

     

    EFB relies on your online client i.e. FSInn or Squawkbox to provide the traffic. This means that variables such as you visibility range in your client will determine which aircraft appear. Instead of checking ServInfo it's better to check the FSX multiplayer session, because if the aircraft are there and not in EFB then there is an issue.

     

    Also there are some known issues with the NGX if you're flying that. Before they released SP1 it stopped traffic from showing on EFB on almost all occasions. Now with the service pack it's been showing all VATSIM traffic for me personally, but again some users have still reported problems.

    I have gotten VATSIM traffic generally to display. But, not every aircraft.

    I noticed right now in my flight, I have seen every airliner. But GA are not being displayed. Two flights were at 9500ft and 15000ft, both not visible in Enroute chart.

    But I do see them in ServInfo.

    What is wrong?
