That would rather point to a SimConnect.dll problem. Maybe you need to install the legacy SimConnect versions shipped in the Prepar3D v4 installer.
These are located in the redist folder in your Prepar3D installation directory.

If you mean 'local' option for TCP/IP then this tip is not really helpful. If the DataProvider cannot connect with the simulator, then this has nothing to do with TCP/IP. TCP is used for the connection to the DisplayUnits, but not for SimConnect. And btw, you can't trick the DataProvider.

Sorry, but this is just nonsense. There is no 'tricking' and no 'thinking'

Ahh thanks reinstalling the legacy Simconnects did the trick! B)

  2. Hello Guys,

I've reinstalled windows recently and I am trying to get AEFB set up again.

I recall in the past having a problem where the data provider would not connect with P3D 4.1, so i couldn't use the moving map.  I did a search and found a really helpful post where a guy explained that I should not use the local option, and that I should trick the data provider into thinking I was running it remotely, and it worked perfectly.

The problem is, I cannot find that post for the life of me and I have no idea how to do it again... the most I can remember is that I had to put in 'localhost' in one of the fields.

Can someone please explain how to do this so it works seamlessly with 4.1?

    Many Thanks,

    Lewis
