AlfredoDiaz
Hi, excuse my english. Situation: EFB updated to 2.1 Connected to XP11 Databases updated and selected. Server running as admin In the server side all seems run fine... Client is in another computer.. Connection with the server OK Master token sent and received Filesync process started And...now...the problem: Server stucks Sending the airports.bin.zip and Client tucks on "Synchronizing database files..." After a certain period of time the server sent a "Timeout client" and the process repeats.... Any idea is appreciated!!! 😃
aivlasoft
Hi Alfredo, what kind of network do you use. Cable or wireless? The file airports.bin.zip takes a little longer to transmit and it could be that then the timeout happens.
AlfredoDiaz
Cable. Both computers connected to same switch....no network failures, I use Mouse Without Borders to control the client and never disconnects..... Seems related to XP database...I have P3DV4 installed, selecting his database the transfer works and client starts normally, selecting the XP database the transfers stuck. In both cases the sim is closed. No error in logfiles, only a client timeout....
aivlasoft
What is the size of the airports.bin.zip file?
AlfredoDiaz
82.7Mb in XP....+-27Mb in P3D With P3D database the client shows a % of the work done but with XP no, always shows "Synchronizing database files..."... maybe means something... aivlasoft
I guess this is not too big.

AlfredoDiaz
no ideas???
lonewulf47
It seems that the unzipping process on the Client is not running properly. Did you try to run the Client as Admin? Although not expressively necessary, it might help in some cases.
AlfredoDiaz
Client runs like Admin yet... The client computer is a W8.1 machine, tried to run the client in W8 compatibility mode also, nothing changes... I will try uninstalling/rebooting/installing.... but I don't understand why with the P3D database works well

Timeout means that the Client doesn't reply to the Server within 5 seconds. This points either to a bottleneck of the network or maybe the overall performance of the Client is too low. AlfredoDiaz
uninstalling/rebooting/installing changes nothing.... With the cliente installed locally the same XP database works really well. So, it's not a database problem aivlasoft, thanks for your idea..you are right, the problem could be the client computer performance. When the filesync starts the harddisk led becomes crazy and the client mouse "freezes", so this can cause the fail..will try with another computer.... smittyC
I had the same issue and this worked for me. Find your XPUIPC.ini file. It should be in the Plugins folder. Open that file and look at the Server Address. Make sure it's the same as XP's address which you can find in the settings menu under NETWORK. Hope this helps
aivlasoft
Why do you point to XPUIPC.ini? EFB does not use XPUIPC.
smittyC
XPUIPC is known for having this particular network problem of changing the service address. All I know is once I matched the addresses the database sync worked.
aivlasoft
Ok, thanks for your reply.
