Radio panel doesnt update the radios in Maj Q400

Just tried the radio panel flying the Q400.

Changing the settings on the EFB dialog changes the radios etc in the sim, but this isn't replicated on the VC radio panel.

Leads to a confusing situation where the two displays show entirely different freqs...

Don't know the Q400. But most probably it's this aircraft, which does not feed the flight sim default com panel information back. Try once and load a default aircraft in your simulator. If the frequency update works there, it's an issue of the add-on.

The Q400 is known to have several parts of the aircraft implemented outside of the simulator (e.g. Engines). It might be that the radios are also programmed in a separate module to which EFB has no access.

FS2Crew can do it, so why not EFB? :s   Seems like it would be very useful as the Q400 is a very accurate and well used add-on....

FS2Crew does interact with the COM?

- SET XXX (POINT/ DECIMAL) ON COMM 2

Looks like they partnered up to get this running. But as long this issue is limited to a single aircraft, it points not to any issue of EFB. As a product to be used with a lot of different aircraft, EFB cannot provide customized interfaces for product developers taking the liberty of making an exception.

Rather a shame, as Majestic would probably give you the info to achieve this really easily.  Its not like there are a million and one study-level a/c requiring a bit of extra work.

Regardless of this, is there a way to make the radio panel stay on top all the time please?

Sure, ask Majestic to just synchronize their built-in COM with the flight sim default one. This will also enable other software and hardware like external com panels to work properly with this aircraft. You should realize that it is much easier the developer of the aircraft doing an exception would adapt, instead everyone else. Just because Majestic is not playing the rules, you cannot expect everyone else playing along.
