Well, EFB v2 is entirely dependend on .NET Framework and thus not written in C++, but in C#. So far we have no information from Microsoft regarding changes in Administrative Rights and -Access in the 1809 Autumn Build. Without thorough information we are unable to do any troubleshooting. The (.NET) Error Message in your logfile simply points to missing Admin Rights. We will of course investigate further but this can become a M.I. 😄 without more information.

Hi,

By 'firewall exemption' I meant that my  F-secure protection allows for an exemption for Aivla soft server.

Server and client are on same PC.

I don't know whether this info is relevant but I have just checked Remote Flight Server  app and this does connect to same port number as that referred to in log file.

Ok, I see. If two programs try to use the same port number, then of course the first will "win" and the second will be locked out. In this case you need to change the port number for one of the two programs.

   Hi,

there seems to be some misunderstanding.I have tried to connect to the EFB server several times without Remote Flight Server being open.I just tried it once to see if anything would happen or shed some light.Anyway,I have now changed the port in Remote Flight Server and I still can't connect to EFB server with or without Remote Flight open.

I don't know how to find the port number for EFB server.

Ok I see. That's another issue then. It's a bit difficult to do troubleshooting if each and evey bit needs to be verified first before we're able to make a complete picture of your installation. Two things might be helpful:

a) read the forum rules thoroughly: https://forum.aivlasoft.com/topic/2522-forum-rules-read-before-post/ especially also the part about posting

b) create a set of support files

Just for info I’ve been running 1809 for a couple of months now and EFB v2 has been fine. I run the client in a networked PC.

Thanks Ray, for this information! I have also one client running on 1809 without problems, though not a Server yet.

so your clients are running on 1809 and the servers 1809?

just asking to clarify

  • 2 weeks later...

For the last few days, the server doesn't start for me. It only displays a pop-up window that states

Access to the path '<UserDirectory>\Documents\Aivlasoft\EFB2\Server\Logfiles\serverlogfile-5.txt' is denied,

at System.IO.__Error.WinIOError(Int 32 errorCode, String maybeFullPath)

at System.IO.File.InternalDelete(String path, Boolean checkHost)

at j.y.n.s.y(String A_0)

at j.y.n.s.er(String A_0, String A_1, j A_2, String A_3)

at j.j.j.y.v()

I believe it is a Windows 10 problem. I noticed that I cannot change permissions to the EFB2 directory (which is read only), not even using the command line prompt as administrator.
