Connecting the Data provider and Display Unit

Recommended Posts

Dave,

I wrote "did" but that may be an overstatement. EFB may have worked fine without tweaking simconnect.xml, but FWIW....

On my FSX machine (my "host machine" if you like), I configured the simconnect.xml file for ipv4 (because I'm an old fogey and that's what I use) and auto with the correct port for EFB.

Here's a thread that might make that a little clearer - http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5956 - Mr Pete Dowson points out an issue to someone having a problem. If that's not enough then run an internet search for simconnect.xml dowson.

IIRC, I didn't have to do anything on my remote (XP) notebook other than to configure my software firewall and a/v to allow that port to be open to my FSX machine.

Regards,

  • 1 month later...

I have 2 XP machines, the provider machine is a iMac called "Mac". Folders are shared. Now, on the display unit I have to set the settings for 2 folders on the Data Provider Unit:

- FSX Flightplans, and

- Provider Data Folder

The first one is fine (it says: "\\mac\Flight Simulator X Dateien",

but for the second one I cannot find that "Aivlasoft.EFB.DataProvider" folder.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Philippe
