jemac3
Afternoon, I recently loaded a new HD airport from LatinVFR for John Wayne (KSNA) and due to AI issues they changed the runways from 20 to 19 which gave me the Runway assignment warning. The issue was fixed and the correct assignments were restored and I ran the scenery data update. But I continue to get the same error Runway assignment warning?? Thanks for any assistance Jim
aivlasoft
Jim, when you open the airport information dialog, what are the runway identifiers there and which file is indicated at the top (if the file name is not yet indicated just double-click in the free area there)? Have you any entries in the runways.txt file from KSNA? Did you tick the option "Show runway identifiers from navigation data" (DisplayUnit > Settings > Charts > Ground). jemac3
The runways are 02L, 20R, 02R,20L. The file name is C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\LatinVFR\Orange County_KSNA\Scenery\KSNA_ ADEX_RGManimJET.xml Yes the entries are in the runway.txt file below KSNA 01L 02L KSNA 01R 02R KSNA 19L 20L KSNA 19R 20R And the "Show runway identifiers from navigation data" in the display unit is ticked. LatinVFR supplied me a file to place in the Addon Scenery which now shows the correct runways 20 instead of
aivlasoft
Jim, if the correct runway identifiers are shown (02L, 20R, 02R,20L), you don't need the entries in the runways.txt file anymore. They are only required when the identifiers are not correct. So you can remove these lines from the file.
jemac3
I have moved the entry from the runway.txt file and ran the data scenery update. Is there anyplace else I need to make a change as I still get the error.
jemac3
Sorry that's removed
jemac3
I believe I resolved my issue by re inserting the changes in the runway.txt file and I am no longer getting the error I do though see that the SID is greyed out?? How can I resolve this issue?
aivlasoft
Jim, it might be that there is no SID available in the navigation data. Did you verify this already? (which navdata provider are you using and which cycle?)
jemac3
Navigraph Airac Cycle 1503.
jemac3
Verified in the \AivlaSoft\EFB\SidStars there is a KSNA.tx
aivlasoft
Did you also have a look inside the file? There should be a section where the SIDs are listed (if available).
VonRondstadd
Hello, I had this problem also.Inside my Aivlasoft map in FSX there supposed to be two maps Aerosoft NavDataPro and Navigraph FMS Data! When I looked over there my airac updates installed not in Navigraph FMS Data map but I had not two but four maps! The other two where the updates: NavData and SIDSTARS!So I copied them to the Navigraph FMS Data map and when asked over to choose overwrite files!I could now see the SIDS and STARS! Only I get an other message now saying:Waring - Navigation data runway ident 02R at airport KSNA could not be assigned to simulator runway.Waring - Navigation data runway ident 20L at airport KSNA could not be assigned to simulator runway.Info - Available simulator runways at this airport are as follows: 02L, 20RWhat to do now??Robert
aivlasoft
Hi Robert, It's always a good idea to consult the manual. In section 2 or 3 you will find a detailed description on how to proceed. If you read the FAQs of this forum http://aivlasoft.ipbhost.com/index.php?/topic/1195-runwaystxt-runway-identifiers-are-greyed-out/you will find another helpful information. VonRondstadd
Hello, I did this: In Runways.txt' file located on the DataProvider computer Windows 7 C:\Users\[user Name]\Documents\AivlaSoft\EFB\UserData Step 1: For each FSX runway (see the line "Available FSX runways ...") you have to add a line to the runways.txt file: KSNA 01L KSNA 01R KSNA 19L KSNA 19R Step 2: Then you have to determine which runway identifier of the navigation data must be assigned to each of the FSX runways: KSNA 01L 02L KSNA 01R 02R KSNA 19L 20L KSNA 19R 20R Step 3: Save the file. Step 4: Go to the DisplayUnit's settings dialog, tab "Miscellaneous" and press the button "Reset airport data cache". Step 5: Reload the airport by pressing "Airports", then "Last selected ..." ( only I did not see Last selected but only All Airports!) So the result in the Runways.txt' file is: KSNA 01L 02L KSNA 01R 02R KSNA 19L 20L KSNA 19R 20R I did not get a message now! problem: I only see one runway in EFB - 02L and 20R and not runway 02R and 20L! problem; I can now select an Arival but not an Approach this is greyed out! problem: I can not select an Departure SID this is also Greyed out! What am I doing wrong then? Robert
VonRondstadd
Any help please? Robert
aivlasoft
Robert, I think that you have mixed the FSX runways with the navdata runways. In your first post you wrote that on the screen the following message appeared: Info - Available simulator runways at this airport are as follows: 02L, 20R Then on your last post you describe step by step what you did: Step 1:For each FSX runway (see the line "Available FSX runways ...") you have to add a line to the runways.txt file: KSNA 01LKSNA 01RKSNA 19LKSNA 19R So from my point of view here's the cause of the problem. VonRondstadd
I don't know why but tried again with new airac and it is working now! I added: KSNA 01L 02LKSNA 19R 20RKSNA 01R 02RKSNA 19L 20L Robert
