  1. Hello Thanks Romoni for your reply - however I am using my FSX computer name, not the IP, so this shouldn't be an issue. I can see all my files on my FSX machine on my laptop, and the link has been confirmed by the ESB Data Provider. Thanks also, Urs, for your reply. I can confirm that the sharing set up for the key folders/files (and in fact the whole C:\drive on my FSX machine) includes writing as well as reading. However almost none of the files/folders listed on p. 35 of the installation/configuration manual have been created. On the FSX machine, the only folders in C:Users\User Name\Documents\Aivlasoft\EFB are 'Online' and 'Sounds' and the only two files are 'Runways.txt' and 'SceneryExclude.txt. None of the other files, including UserDataPath.ini, are there. On my laptop (the Display Unit machine) there are no folders or files at all in C:Users\User Name\Documents - certainly not the UserDataPath.ini which I would have expected to be there rather than on my FSX machine. Can you confirm a) which of the missing files and folders should be on my FSX machine, and which on my Display Unit machine are these files created on installation or during the first run? One hypothesis is that the Data Provider is not connecting because it is looking for the files on my FSX machine and not finding them. Many thanks for your time and help Nick
  2. Problem - the Display Unit shows 'Connecting to Data Provider' - but never connects. I have the Data Provider on my desktop, which also runs FSX, and the Display Unit on my laptop; both machines run Windows 7. My C drive on the FSX machine is shared across the network, and I can see all the files and folders on my FSX machine on my laptop. In the Data Provider settings, I have set the server to 'Any' and kept the TCP port number as 51747, with all other settings as default. In the Display Unit settings, I have set the server to 'Remote', retained the port no as 51747 and other settings on the TCP page as default. I have entered the name of my FSX computer and the check name test displays 'OK ... Hostname found'. The data provider folder is correctly set to the Appdata/Local (etc) on my FSX machine. None of the folders below (Aircrafts) etc have been created on my laptop - I assume this is done when the Display unit has connected to the Data Provider - which it has never done. I have opened port 13 on my FSX machine. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong - or what further setting I can try? Many thanks, Nick
