  1. Hi Urs, thanks for the quick response. The issue, l believe, is with the way Imaginesim (IS) installs to P3D. Their scenery files and xml addon are completely independent of how other 3rd party addons work with P3D. For example, the IS WSSS does not add to the scenery.cfg nor does the xml add to the P3Dv4 Add-ons folder. I will contact Imaginesim for a solution (hopefully!). cheers Steve
  2. G'day from Downunder Just wondering if anyone has been successful in displaying the Singapore airport map for Imaginesim's WSSS. No matter what I try, it still shows as the default scenery layout in the Display Unit. Any help greatly appreciated. Cheers Steve (youngie63)
  3. Hi guys this is worked for me - just enter this string into the Scenery.cfg folder on the Simulator tab C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4 (C being the drive l installed my P3D). Sill trying to work out the link to connect AS_P3Dv4 regards Steve (youngie63)
  4. Thanks Urs, figured as much but thought I'd share in case it becomes an issue down the track. Cheers Steve
  5. G'day All Received the following message in the Display Unit during the cruise "getting data from vatsim server failed. Index was outside the bounds of the array" I can't find anything online the comes remotely close to this message. Has not affected Vpilot or FSX insofar as I can see. I have included the appropriate logs relating to the message. 6. Hi All Updated to the latest version yesterday without problem (or so it seems). First flight today with new version and noticed late into flight the message "the operation has timed out" in bottom left of Display Unit. Everything appears ok with no errors recorded on DataProvider. Any ideas? Thanks in advance Steve Y Canberra
  7. G'day All I have been receiving this message for the last few days. Is there an issue with the sever as per Urs description above and could this be affecting the Navigraph downloads into EFB? Cheers Steve Y Oz
  8. G'day all For whatever reason started getting the following message this morning "Authentication of AivlaSoft online data service failed. The underlying connection was closed. An unexpected error occurred on a receive." When l close the error panel everything continues to work as expected with the exception that a) the message remains on the status line of the Display Unit; and the error message pops up over FSX every 10 minutes or so. The Data Provider is not displaying any errors at all. Aside from the message appearing all seems ok. Any idea what the issue might be? Regards Steve Young Canberra Australia
  9. Hi Urs I have got it working but it is a work-around solution. As stated in my original post, the EFB install created a 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X' which only contained the FMS Navdata file. Trust me, I was loathe to start FSX afresh so did a 'repair' using the FSX cd's. This essentially reloaded FSX to 'C:\Program Files (86x)' and refreshed the Scenery.cfg. From there I ran a Scenery update refresh on the DataProvider which identified a handful of invalid scenery files (some residual FS9 files). Once these were removed I did another refresh and 'Bob's your uncle', EFB was up and running. My only issue now is that I have 2 x FSX folders (C & D drives). When I have more time I will have a play and try to resolve it but EFB is working without performance degradation........so far! Cheers
  10. All I have a similar problem except that my issue relates to a new installation (see post 'Install defaults to C:\Program files.....' l posted on Friday). My FSX resides in a solid state drive (D:\FSX) and was done purposefully to improve performance - it did significantly. Three things: 1. Why does EFB create a folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\" 2. Why I can't point to the FSX directory during the install - this is standard with other add-ons I have used 3. Can I edit a cfg to point it at the right directory? (haven't found one to date) Happy to provide copies of the DataProvider warnings and SceneryUpdateLog as needed I have had the licence a week now and am becoming increasingly frustrated at not being able to use EFB, particularly as it is a big cost by comparison to a lot of add-ons.
  11. G'day All Hopefully there is an easy fix to this but my initial install defaults to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X. In fact it is creating a FSX folder where there wasn't one previously. I have FSX loaded on a separate drive (D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X) but nowhere during the install does it allow me to select the FSX location. I have tried a reinstall with the same result. Interestingly is that it loads the DataProvider (no errors but is pointing to 'C' drive) and the DisplayUnit (but no airport data....obviously!). I have uploaded the Navdata to D:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X with no problems. I suspect I've missed a step somewhere but I have been through the manual carefully and the forum but haven't been able to find the problem or a solution. I'll most likely kick myself once the answer is known but I just want to play with EFB. Thanks for any help. Cheers
