1. Thank you for the answer. You need an external source/tool, like EFB 1.x. I have PFPX, Simbrief by the way. RobB
2. This looks very nice. Time to upgrade. Thanks for the effort guys. Though I have a question regarding the routeplanning. Is it still so, that you either need to find a route from an external tool/source or build you route completely manually? Not like FSC where you say: Start at X, end at Y, build route? RobB
3. Hello, I have done this. You have to install the dataprovider on the pc that is running FSX. (I am not sure if you need to install the whole project). Offcourse I think that you ran everything so that it found all stuff you have in FSX. If youstart up the dataprover, you need to go in to the menu under Extra\Settings Make sure thte bullet in Server Mode is selected on "Any". You only need to remember the portnumber if your pc's are having a software firewall and you need to open up a port. Then you install the EFB display unit on the second pc. Fire it up. Click on Sytem and then Settings. Look under TCP Communication Make sure that you selct the Remote bullit at the part of the Server Mode. and type in the box below the ip-address of the pc running FSX. You can eventually also type here ther hostname. And you can check the name. Click ok, and you are done. Greetings, Rob
4. Really? I did do so great. Picking a route that would exist. That is why I said, suppose... Now I am looking at routes that are odd or non existing. So what did I do? Create route in FSC. And try to create something like that in EFB, using Routefinder and/or Vatsim. I planned a route from EHBK to EDWE. Vatsim does not find a route. Routefinder finds a route over REKKEN (VOR RKN). I know by studying the AIP that I cannot use REKKEN, as REKKEN is meant for traffic, going to airport Twente. So the only logical routes we could use should be the VEROR departure or the NETEX departure. EDWE does not have a an arrival. If you look at these examples you see where it goes wrong. Especially if you miss the airways. I am not flying many mainstream routes. But I hope you get what I mean. Considering what does FSC look like and how does it show things on the airport, I must say that it works. It is not the nicest solution. I was happy with Fsnavigator, and not so happy with FSC. Though it works, and I could go around the even stupid routes in there. (ehbk-ehrd landing on runway 06, makes a route, to ROT, then going north, making a small D-tour of 10 minutes, then returning to ROT, and then going to the west). So far what I have seen in EFB, considering airport-plates, I can only say yammie-yammie. Arrivals, Approaches and Sids, that is excelent. Only the middle part. But like you said, version 2.0 should have it. Then is now the question: buy EFB 1.0 and still use FSC. Or wait it out. Will do some testing with a combo of FSC and EFB. Well you explenations are great too. Super to be precise. RobB
5. Normally I am capable of fiddling things out. But that mass of directies of only numbers, I find nothing. I really wonder where I had installed NL2000. Then I looked at your path and I got it. I have something simular, but only for NL2000. Happy yes. I guess, I have many questions left, but most will get above water, during the time I use it. You are the first who helped me solve the issue. Thanks. That gives me a bonus question ofcourse? Suppose you have a route, from A to B. Example EHBK to EDDF. In reallity I can find a route to there. Many programs use the Norvernich dep. But that seems only allowed for Cologne. The only option for me is LNO. Suppose, there is no route in vroute or avsim. So I only have the DEP and the Approach (MTR approach). How do I gather the missing path between LNO and MTR? I guess if that mistery is solved, I know what I am going to do. EFB looks simular to FSC. FSC looks only outdated. But FSC can fill the gaps, via airways. And that is the only thing that is missing in EFB. RobB
6. I guess that too. Thank you for the explanations. Rob
7. Downloaded the new airac from Navigraph, uploaded it and the issue is gone. Thank you for the tip. RobB
8. Did send that pln now too. Sorry. Regarding the max ias. I flew at fl60, from EHBK to EHAM. Around 220kn. I can remember something about highspeed approaches in that area. But that are routes from Belgium. I would expect 220 below fl70, between fl70 and fl100 250kn. Rob
9. I am looking at page 79 of the EFB Operations Manual 2011.05.pdf. That page is all about the ground chart. Nevertheless found it I copied that file in to fsx\scenery but nothing changed. I also tried to copy it into the 601 directory. No change either. (Weird that you see folders. I only see folders after renaming .nl2 into .zip.) Rob
10. Hello, I just did do a search on my pc, and found that bgl-file here: c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\0601\scenery\ I could not find a directory called ils_fix. So I have deleted EHBK and downloaded the latest version. That gave the same results. Then I thought, lets rename .nl2 into .zip, and that showed me the ils_fix. So I copied that file as you had descreibed. How did you show that airport data? Perhaps my lack of knowledge of EFB. But I am learning. Did rerun the database update and it did not show up either. I appreciate what you did. RobB
11. Thanks for looking that up. Weird but I looked just at their site and could not find the fix. Then I reread your statement. Now I ask myself, where can I find that file? Which folder? Greetings, RobB
12. Just looked at it, I have AIRAC 1303 installed. Just looked in the database, and only saw the ILS/DME for 03, not 21. Does that mean, that Navigraph made a mistake? Rob
13. Hello, I have been further testen EFB. I did create another trip from EHBK to EHAM. When I was over RIVER, the plane suddenly to make full circle. It did that also over OANB. I thought, how odd, and looked in the flightplan of EFB. I saw there this: RIVER 339o [vct] 043o RIVER 223o So fly to RIVER on a 339 heading then VCT (I read somewhere vector?) on 43 and than back to RIVER on 223. I also saw: OANB 001o [dst] 311o OANB 131o Well this is the second circle my plane made. Totally unexpected. I wonder where they come from, and how I can rid of them in my flightplan. When I export it to FSX, it also goes in to there. Greetings, RobB
14. Hello, thanks for your kind answers. I am not using any scenery for EHAM. I am using NL2000 for EHBK and the surrounding province. I know that a long time ago there where 2 runways. 07-25 03-21 About 10-12 years ago that changed into 07-25 04-22 At about the time FSX arrived the runway changed back to 03-21. And the 07-25 was scratched. The old ILS frequency of the 22 was what I can remember 108.50. When it changed to 03-21 a second ILS was added to the 03. 111.55. And the 21 got the same frequency. I know that the original FSX has the runway 04-22. After I had installed FSC 9.x a year ago, and updated it with newest Navigraph Airac from that moment (september/oktober 2012), I saw the change in the runway and I am missing the ILS. I had then asked at FSC about it and got a pretty vague answer. Others said, that FSC sometimes has these strange things. As FSX lets me use the ILS anyway, I did not look back. I have updated the Airacs until juli/august 2013 from Navigraph. (Now that the subscribtion has ended I am looking into it, wether to use Navigraph or swithc to the Aerosoft platform). Now with the EFB, I see the same issue, with that ILS, and EFB is having a different Airac. so I wonder, if the airac of Navigraph is the issue or it is somewhere else. But where to look? Regarding the BC, I use it sometimes on strips in Germany or France, when they only have one ILS, and the wind is coming from the other side. I think that is a NDB approach? And via the BC button you can use the ILS. The BC-ILS is difficult to use, if you cannot see the ILS Frequency. Regarding the taxiway on Schiphol, well, I tick the Alpha then and learn to live with it. Regarding the arrival route. I indeed took the PESE2A, via the 21 runway. Roughly EHBK, MAS, EHN, PESER. There I selected south. Because I consider Maastricht south-east of Amsterdam, then I see the Eelde route. And that one is GOING TO south west. 220 could be correct. I think you have to tick, ARRIVING SOUTH. I think I found it under ARRIVING WEST. That is a bit odd. I can eventually take some screenshot this evening, if that helps. Rob
