Hi Urs. I don’t include the weight system in my planning. I use pounds for my three other aircraft but Concorde requires metric wherever it flies. Regarding pressure that isn’t a problem either since EFB displays both inches and hPa. I Don’t need to choose. I guess I’ll just have to remember to change the setting in EFB. Thanks all the same.

Hi Urs. Many eons ago I asked if the weight option - pounds or kilograms - could be linked to an aircraft rather than being a global choice. The reason I ask is because Concorde has all weights in metric whereas Boeing uses pounds. I’m pretty sure Airbus will use metric too. Whilst I use P3D v5 this is something that affects all platforms. Any chance you could make this possible please?

It’s hard to know what could be improved. 😁 Do you have a few examples of the four types listed and I’ll check the distance they become ‘active’ in P3D.

Thanks for investigating Urs. I accept it’s not practical to implement this for v2. Maybe something to consider should you decide a v3 was worthwhile.

If you have an aircraft that has a NAV1/2 DME switch the Morse Code for that VOR will start sounding when the range becomes active. The PMDG737 is one such aircraft. On a recent flight the distance showed just under 80nm when the sound commenced. I know ILS frequencies have a much shorter range. Perhaps <20nm.

Thanks Urs. I have seen a VOR range in the distant past but cannot remember where.

All VORs have different ranges but currently it’s not possible to see them. Would it be possible to display this when right-clicking a VOR? Maybe NDBs could be added if they have that capability. I’m referring to P3D v5.

I run the EFB display on a network PC. I divide the screen between EFB and LittleNavmap. In years of using EFB it’s never been an issue. The popup display is only there temporarily in any case. As soon as the program loads the popup disappears and the main EFB display appears. I launch several programs on the network PC using AlacrityPC. That way I don’t need to access that desktop once the process has started. Yes, you asked and the developer gave his reasons why he won’t be changing it. But you persisted which could also be considered rude.

Urs and Oskar, if the popup is the biggest thing affecting a few users you should congratulate yourselves on producing a magnificent program. I haven’t posted in a while because EFB works perfectly for me. Still running P3D v5 and loving it (and EFB). 😁 If no display appeared people would complain they don’t know if it’s working! You can’t win! 🤣

Indeed Urs. Some payware ones should have it but I readily accept default BGLs won’t.

Hi Urs and Oskar, When looking for a suitable gate for my aircraft at the departure or arrival airport it would be helpful if the list shown in Airport Information - Parking tab - could have a filter so I can quickly identify gates for my airline. There is an option for 'Aircraft Profile' but it still lists a lot of gates. Is this something you could implement if you feel it's worth it?

Hi gents, I've downloaded the file provided by Herve Sors and run the executable. I opted for v5 and chose all world regions. The installation was so quick I had to check it had done something. I searched for *p3dini files and found 72 of them so it's definitely worked. I then started P3D and then rebuilt the EFB database. I'm pleased to report the NTL VOR has now disappeared from the EFB display. 👍 @srcooke, how often do you run this process? Every AIRAC cycle or every few? @lonewulf47, no offence taken Oskar. I suppose when so many people are moving to MSFS you thought I was using that. I may at some future point use it for low-level sightseeing but for serious flying I'll stick to P3D. 😁

@lonewulf47and @srcooke. Thank you both for your replies. I do recall using an independent source in the past to update P3D nav data including VORs. It could well be the one mentioned by Stephen. I did update my P3Dv4 system with it but back then it wasn’t available for v5. That may well have changed. More later...

Oskar, I’m surprised by your reply. I have a screenshot showing the VOR with the latest AIRAC update having been applied. I’ll post it tomorrow.

I'm flying EFHK-ESSA and need to include a waypoint 40nm from ESSA. I'm trying to use VOR NORTEL (NTL) with a frequency of 116.30 as a bearing. It's shown in Aivlasoft's EFB but not in Little Navmap or the PMDG database. I have a Navigraph subscription which updates all 3. Why the inconsistency? Over at the PMDG forum Stephen Cooke confirms it's decommisioned and is not shown in his EFB display. But after updating the AIRAC cycle if I was using an old one wouldn't that be shown in the Client EFB display? Confusing! 😕

Hi Urs, Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Been suffering with a heavy cold. I've found the option that was causing the problem. "If moving map has been deactivated... reactivate it after...". It's set to 10 secs so I'll increase it to 60. That should resolve the problem - thanks! 👍

Hi Urs, I’ll look at those settings, thanks. Would the fact I’m running the map on a client PC be a factor?

During a flight I need to draw a 40nm circle around my arrival airport to aid with the descent phase. I then find the nearest VOR and draw a line from it to where it intercepts that circle. The distance and heading is then entered into the CDU on my PMDG737. There is a requirement using Radar Contact to be at a specific altitude at that point. I turn off the option at the bottom of the display which in theory should stop EFB from detecting and centring my aircraft. But whilst I’m drawing this line the map will switch back to my aircraft. It does this on a frequent basis. Urs, could you check your code around this action please.

Oskar, now that I have an Affinity Mask setting I’m really pleased with v5.2. Still not found any problematic airports. 😉

@lonewulf47, Hi Oskar. I’ve only had it a week myself but haven’t found any problems so far affecting airports. The main issue is increased use of the CPU and less of the GPU. If you have Hyperthreading enabled you definitely need an Affinity Mask setting otherwise performance struggles.

EFB works fine with v5.2. 👍
