  1. Jerry, How would people like myself ( who have a non working DU on a secondary system with not a single FS addon installed apart from pfpx and asn) fit into your theory ? Regards / Dick =
  2. Maybe the following could be of help. My setup is: The DU on a upgraded W10 computer while FSX is on another W7 computer. When I try to start the DU nothing happens, I get the blue circle doing some rounds and all ends there. When however I start the DU whilst the FSX computer is not switched on, the DU does start. Initially I get the warning that the "data provider folder does not exist or is not availble", which is understandable as the Data provider system is not active. After that I start the FSX computer and the Data Provider. When on the DU TCP comm tab I check if the DU can see the FSX computer and it does. When I then hit the OK button on the DU I get the warning that "data provider does not contain the requested Data provider files". Just to be sure I reinstalled the data provider on the primary system but I kept getting the same error. I shut down the DU and tried to start it again but it did not start. Would be great if somebody finds a solution. thank / b rdgs / Dick =
  3. Yes, sorry Travis. I should have given you more info. I Have FSX SP1. I had the "dot" as in your example. Went into the submenu, checked the options. Windows started some downloads and now I have a "check" in the box. I did try to install Simconnect as in yr link but system replied that it was already present. What I do not understand is why a new W10 install does not need a new install of simconnect while an upgrade W10 ( that presumably keeps all installed programs) does need one ? To give you complete info : FSX runs a different computer under W7 while the display unit runs on a second system with an upgraded W10. ASN also works on the second (W10) computer and works fine. I tried to install all the simconnects I could find on the W10 system but still no luck to start the Display unit on the second computer. The data provider on the W7/FSX system indicates that "connection to FSX is established". b rdgs / Dick =
  4. Travis Thank you for giving us hope again to have a working EFB 1- I take it the picture that you show of the control panel Net Framework 3.5 is what we see when do NOT have network properly installed. 2- could you explain how we should (re)install the correct simConnect client ? I understand clean W10 install works out of the box ? so how do they get Simconnect on their client system ? I did install the FSX SDK on my client computer to no avail. thx for yr support B rdgs / Dick
