  1. Hi Have got SimpleCam working again in P3D. A reinstall was the answer! One thing I have noticed is that I have the default Cessna 172 in both FSX-SE & P3D. This means that the same camera file applies to the aircraft whether I fly in P3D or FSX. However, the camera views are not exactly the same, perhaps the default angle of view is not identical. I was wondering if you could create separate folders for the camera views so that P3D was separate from FSX. I set up a view in FSX to start the engine but in P3D the same key press gives a slightly raised angle and the starter switches are not visible. It is not a big issue but since I now use the YOKO yoke - I don't have a hat switch! Just an idea for future development. John
  2. Hi Urs Thanks - have got SimpleCam working in FSX again! My discovery was that if I go into P3D, SimpleCam does not work, if I then shut down P3D and go into FSX, SimpleCam has the same problem as in P3D, however, I can then recreate the camera views and save in FSX and it works! I don't know what to make of it. Obviously on my system, something in P3D is destabilising SimpleCam. Yes I have tried to reinstall simconect but this doesn't work. At least it works in FSX-SE as long as I don't go into P3D! The only real advantage for me with P3D is not losing the sound focus when using addons (eg FS-FlightControl). When I get back from holiday I shall probably do a complete reinstall of P3D and see if that solves the issue. Thanks again John
  3. Bad news Just opened FSX-SE and exactly what I described above is happening in FSX. It was working perfectly last night in FSX. Now that I have closed P3D and opened FSX, I have the same issue- Message Camera 'x' selected, then a slight blink and movement of the screen and remains in default view. seems I was wrong above - it is an issue with connecting to the sims. Any suggestions!? John
  4. Hi again. Update to the previous post. Opened P3D and used C172 that I have set up cameras for in FSX. What happened was that when I changed camera position with number pad, the green strip shows at the top of the screen saying 'Camera 5 selected'. The screen blinks but the cockpit view remains at its default setting. I can scroll through all the camera views and it gives the Camera x selected message but no actual change. It is obviously some issue connecting with P3D. However since simplecam is now working fine with FSX-SE, it must be a P3D issue - most probably above my ability to trace! John
  5. Hi Thanks. I am using V3.3.5.17625 like you. I have come to the conclusion that it probably isn't a SimpleCam problem but a P3D issue. When I load P3D it automatically loads SimpleCam but once inside P3d, though camera positions can be set up, the save screen will not appear so it can't be saved. A reinstall did not answer the problem (though it did for FSX-SE!) As a test I tried setting up an OPUS camera position. I have OPUS and use it for weather quite often but not for the cameras. Unlike SimpleCam, I found the bindings erratic and unreliable, so I always use SimpleCam for cockpit views. OPUS too uses simconnect and it would not work in P3D suggesting a common problem with simconnect. Have tried to reinstall simconnect but it hasn't solved the problem. Probably the only solution is to do a complete re-installation of P3D and see if that solves the problem. Reluctant to start that at the moment! I assume from your post that if I set up (for example) camera views for the Carenado B1900D in FSX, then P3D should also pick up the same camera positions, so in theory if I set cameras in FSX sim, they should be read by the P3D. Have discovered the folder in Documents and seen that there is just one file per aircraft type. I'll test this out. Thanks for the follow up Kind regards John
  6. There appears to be a problem with Simconnect and SimpleCam in regards to saving camera positions in P3D (ver3). If I have the same aircraft in P3D as in FSX, is there any way of transferring the FSX data into P3D so that you can change the cockpit views, and if so what would be the procedure. It seems P3D locks you out of saving camera positions for some reason. John
  7. Just trying Simcam again this morning in FSX. Have re-installed having previously unintalled the program and also the data. It is now working in FSX and I have been able to save new positions. However in P3D I still have the same problem. SimpleCam loads with P3D and when I press a key pad No, the green strip momentarily displays and says camera 4 selected, or camera 5 etc; however, the screen momentarily blinks but stays in the default view. I can't create and save any new positions in P3D. I can move the camera but the save screen does not appear when pressing Ctrl + a number key. I created the camera positions in FSX before starting any addons, Wondered if FS-FlightControl might be conflicting. Did the same in P3D but the problem continues. Pity really because I like the program and depend on it for some aircraft (Aerosoft twin Otter!). Obviously, if in P3D since I am getting some on-screen acknowledgement that a camera has been selected, presumably this means that Simconnect is present. I really do want to get it working in P3D as it was doing until recently. I really do not want to do a full re-install of P3D to see if that works! John
  8. Hi Sorry about the name. Have installed two ATC trial programs - IYP and pilot2ATC. Have taken IYP off since not satisfied. But P3D stopped working before those installations yesterday. Other than that no changes. John
  9. Hi A few days ago SimpleCam stopped working in P3D (ver3). I could change existing camera positions but not save any new positions. However it worked fine in FSX-SE, until this morning! Now SimpleCam no longer works in FSX. When I press control and a numberpad No, it simply moves the position, no saves are possible. Have uninstalled, reinstalled but it still does not work. Any suggestions please? Yorkshire
  10. I have just sorted my own problem - after a few attempts. It seems difficult to get out of settings mode in initial setup of display unit. It wasn't allowing me to create a new aircraft - then all of a sudden it did. It then launched and I could access the menu bar and route setup. Seems that there may be an issue at initial setup for some users. Regards John
  11. I have exactly the same problem as Mike above. I was presuming that EFB would read the aircraft available from the FSX sim objects aircraft folder. I am not sure what you mean by the Route Setup screen - I have been through all the tabs but can't identify it as such. I can't find the Edit aircraft option. Would welcome further guidance as I do like the idea of the program and would like to see it running before a purchase! Regards John
