  1. Did the latest version of FSUIPC broke Aivlasoft ...?

It loads and show aircraft at the gate but the aircraft does not move. It seems not connected to MSFS.

Also no weather is shown on the right panel.

  2. Will you please consider to update your aircraft profiles to reflect some of the very popular payware aircraft for MSFS?

    Some come to mind:

    • A310 and A300
    • Embraer 170, 175, 190 and 195
    • ATR72 series aircraft
    • BAe 146 series
    • Kodiak 100
    • Cessna 414
    • TBM850

It will be much appreciated if you can.

After some investigation it turned out that the Navigraph AIRAC cycle 2307 rev 1 was faulty.

In the meantime Navigraph has updated the cycle and everyone should re-download the latest revision 3 from cycle 2307 using the Navigraph FMS Data Manager.

Then rebuild the EFB database using the "Update Navdata" function in the DatabaseBuilder. This will bring back the functionality in EFB as it was with 2306.

    Thank you for the heads-up.

Also, after latest update for Client & Server there is also a XP database (and I don't even have XP) and it doesn't matter how many times you click 'DELETE' it simply won't go away. Thankfully it reads from MSFS database that is selected.

The error is because of faulty data when downloading SIGMETs. This may happen and is beyond the scope of EFB. It has no impact on EFB, except that SIGMET data cannot be depicted until next download.

    Thank you Urs.

I've rewritten a new data file, restarted my computer, and it seems to be fixed now.

AivlaSoft EFB ALWAYS needs its own database. No matter whether you use the default (outdated) database supplied upon purchase or a regularly updated database (Navigraph or NavDataPro). It does not work without. This is for EFB. MSFS uses its own database, more or less regularly updated by MSFS updates (next to come with Update 6 next week) or Navigraph, which overrides MSFS Default database. You cannot override EFB database by any simlator's database.

    👍 ... now I get it.

Sorry it's been a loooong week and not a good Sunday but now I'm with you.

I'll keep my eyes open for when there is a change in the RNAV of Queenstown and/or something weird as with KORD. In the meantime there's a zillion other airports to fly in and out of without any problems.

AS LONG AS NO NAVIGRAPH database is installed. Installing the latter deactivates the mentioned (default) ARINC Database for A/C with G1000/g3000 and similar navigation systems.

Thank you so much for your quick reply. All the answers make sense. The above mentioned quote however doesn't make sense to me ...

... because every month I update Aivlasoft with latest Navigraph Airac, does that mean it overrides the default database?

I don't have the NavData folder installed anymore because it causes too many other problems for me.

How do I then get Aivlasoft to NOT use the Navigraph database?

  7. A few questions:

    1. I've read your 'Why are ILS approach(es) not showing?' post and it all makes perfectly sense - however - there are quite a few airports where I can't figure our why no SIDs or STARs are showing up.
For example: Payware (iniBuilds) Queenstown (NZQN) has the RNAV (GNSS) (ELRUV1A) approach. In AS/EFB the ELRUV1A is available by NO RNAV approach and you can only choose a runway extension.
Another example: Payware (FSDreamTeam) Chicago O'Hare (KORD) has NO SIDS or STARs available
    2. I've tried to create a database file WITH and WITHOUT NavData (Navigraph) folder but it remains the same in the EFB. The strange thing is that the FBW A320 and Asobo B787 do have all the SIDs and STARs available in their FMC and must read it from somewhere?
    3. On a different note: what makes an aircraft showing the ARC (green banana) when climbing or descending? I only see it for the TBM and CRJ although the ARC is selected down below on toolbar and the descent profile bar is showing on the right of the screen?

Once again, thank you for this great piece of software and there is not a single airliner flight that this is not utilised to its full potential.

    Warm regards from Cape Town

    ICAO: LFSB, Lat/Lng 47.58838, 7.53119, MagVar 1.8, Elev 24ft

Now, why will the dev tell me that the elevation is correct ...? Will copy / paste this to him in an email. Thank for clarifying this ... and I suspect that the airports in South America have a similar problem.

  9. That is indeed very very weird / strange ...

... and I have no idea why the two airport (FSDT and JustSim) will show up differently. I think I have the FSDT version somewhere because it came out with a discount if I remember correctly. Will install and see but I doubt if that's the problem because I encountered the same thing while flying in South America.

  10. The last airport that I've noticed this was Basel (LFSB) where the EFB says: ELEV 24" ... but in reality the airport is at 880"

This is for the JustSim scenery - BUT, I've already asked them about the elevation and they've confirmed that in their scenery it is:

    Elevation: Rwy 15 = 886" and Rwy 33 = 882"

    # I'm using the latest AIRAC release.

    [See attached picture]

    efb.jpg

  11. Over the last few days I've witnessed and quite a few instances that the altitude displayed on the EFB does not correspond with the 'real' altitude of the airport.

For example my last flight to Basel (LFSB) where the altitude is 880" but in the EFB it shows 24" ...

Are both "navigraph-navdata" in the Community Folder -AND- the latest "AIRAC" for Aivlasoft wrong with the altitude of this airport?

The other airports were mainly in South America because that's where I fly most of the time in May. I've decided to do a continent every month in all the splendour that MSFS provides.

I'm afraid I know what went wrong with your database. I take it that you use the Navigraph (beta) database and might have updated it for the most recent AIRAC Cycle 2012.

Hi Oskar ... thank you so much for the clarification. I've updated the sim last night to the latest version, is there any other way to 'update simulator' if there is no official update for FS2020 ...?

In the meantime I will uninstall the Navigraph app and reinstall maybe it will then be the latest version.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards

  13. Missing Airports and ILS Frequencies -

I've rebuild the database a few times but the same problem persists ...

    For example:

    1. Although PAVD (Valdez Pioneer) is in FS2020 and you could land and take-off from the airport, the EFB says 'no airport found'
    2. At EFHK (Helsinki) all the ILS frequencies display 'NO LOC FOUND' and therefore you have to look up the ILS frequencies from your Jepp plates, and they all work at the airport

What and where does the DataBuilder misses when it writes the data file ... or am I doing something wrong somewhere?? Above mentioned are only two examples, there are many more.

PS: Aivlasoft and FS2020 are up to date.

It's just a guess, but maybe the airport NZWN is not available due to the limitations of the currently loaded aircraft profile?

What happens if you try to select NZWN from the airport selection dialog? Is it available? If not, is it available after you press the key "PRFL Filter"?

Oh my oh my ... I haven't thought about that. NZWN = 6729" (2050m) and although they easily land and take-off a B787-900 from Wellington, the EFB had the min runway to 2200m and I've now reset it to 2000m and will see what it comes up on the next flight. Thanks a lot.

Will do a search for "Server not going to tray ..."

  15. Where on Earth is Wellington - New Zealand (NZWN) ...?

    • Latest Airac installed
    • Flightbeam Scenery installed (afcad correct)

Wrote new database (11 times !!)

Nada, ziltch, zero -> not a dot or a spot of NZWN anywhere in the EFB ........???

    • Here is the strangest part: you load a flightplan [e.g. KLAX/NZWN) and the NZWN shows on the sidebar and you could even do ARR but the moment you land at the airport then there is nothing ... only the all the AI traffic and yourself on the Client screen and no airport (afcad layout). Weird!?

PS: and on a different note ...

... why will the Server not automatically go to tray after startup - it doesn't matter how many times you tick the box in SETTINGS??

  16. Thank you Oskar ...

I've just noticed something peculiar -

ASP4 is usually on a second computer that I run via network. That (old) computer is in for repairs, and I'm running ASP4 on same computer for now and that's also when the EFB problem started. When I completely close ASP4 even in 'hidden' (bottom right) and THEN start EFB, everything works as it should.

I'm aware that ASP4 uses PORT 19284 but maybe there is a link between the two.

But I'll keep the RESTART in mind, until the other PC is back.
